History: Mandalay was a capital city of Burmese
Kingdom 200 years ago. The Burmese king who
was the last king of Burma lived at the famous
Palace of Mandalay.

Water Festival and Full Moon Day are the well-known festivals of Burma.
Water Festival or New Year Festival is one of the traditional events in Burma, and it is based on
the Buddhist religion. Burmese people celebrate the water festival in the month of April, and all
people pour water on each other from their buckets or silver bowels. Pouring water on each
other is meant to wash off the misdeeds or what they have done in the past.
The Full Moon Day of Thadingyut is the lighting festival of Burma. Buddhist on earth decorates
the homes and streets to welcome Buddha who returns from the heaven.
