  2. 2. <ul><li>Temptation is our tending to choose evil rather than good, because the evil looks good at the time. </li></ul><ul><li>What are the results of following temptation? </li></ul><ul><ul><li>A chain of wrong action follows </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Low self-esteem </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Unhappiness </li></ul></ul>
  3. 3. <ul><li>Jesus as truly human also experienced temptation. He was tempted in every way that we are though he is without sin. </li></ul><ul><li>Heb 4:15 </li></ul><ul><li>Because he himself has gone through temptation. So he is able to help us face temptation. He shows us the way of overcoming temptation. </li></ul><ul><li>Mt.4:1-11 </li></ul>
  4. 4. <ul><li>From the passage Findout: </li></ul><ul><li>1. When did temptation come to Jesus? To us? </li></ul><ul><li>2. How did it come to Jesus? To us? </li></ul>
  5. 5. <ul><li>Christ is tempted to turn stones into bread, to satisfy his hunger. The temptation comes from bodily desires; for food, comfort, etc. </li></ul><ul><li>These desires are goodin themselves. </li></ul><ul><li>Why? </li></ul><ul><li>Life/family </li></ul>
  6. 6. <ul><li>Jesus’s second temptation was coming from the human pride. </li></ul><ul><li>wHat is human pride? </li></ul><ul><li>To show off one’s abilities. That one is better than others. </li></ul><ul><li>The 3rd temptation comes from ambition, desire for power, position </li></ul>
  7. 7. <ul><li>Temptation comes to us through 3 fundamental human desires: </li></ul><ul><li>What are they? </li></ul>
  8. 8. <ul><li>Human’s desire…are they right or wrong? </li></ul><ul><li>What is wrong is to satisfy them with bad means, in doing harm to others and oneself. </li></ul><ul><li>Other times,, we try to get what we desire immediately, by unlawfully means instead of gaining it by hard working. Eg….? </li></ul>
  9. 9. <ul><li>We are responsible for our actions. </li></ul><ul><li>Why? </li></ul><ul><li>Freedom to choose what to do, free will. </li></ul><ul><li>Differentiated from animals. </li></ul>
  10. 10. <ul><li>Jesus show the way to overcome temptation </li></ul><ul><ul><li>1. Firm and strong trust in love of God. Believing then He our father gives us strength to overcome temptation and in relations to him, we know our self value and aim of life. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>2. Knowing our self-value </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>3. Prayer </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>4. Avoid occasion that leads to wrong deeds. Keep away the source of temptation </li></ul></ul>
