  2. 2. Animals<br />Lion-between 265-420 lbs. up to 10 ft. long. Lives in the savanna of Africa, south of the Sahara.. Lion’s coat perfect camouflage, dominant predator. <br />Black mamba-can grow up to 14 ft. long. Travels up to 12 mph, the most deadliest snake. found in South Africa, feeds on small mammals and birds<br />Koala bear- 33 in. long. Between 13.2 and 30.8 lbs. Rough paws act as traction on trees, eats eucalyptus leaves<br />Nile crocodile- 5 meters long. Live in freshwater swamps , rivers, lakes. Only found in Africa and Madagascar. Eats fish, turtles, or birds, buffaloes, antelope, big cats and sometimes people<br />Egyptian mongoose- found in Africa and lives in shrub thickets ,rocky areas, and woodlands. Ranges from 19 to 23 in. weighs 4 to 7 lbs<br />
  3. 3. Plants<br />Senegal Gum Acacia- an average sized thorn tree that grows up to 20 meters long.<br />Elephant grass- a tall grass that originally came from africa.. Grows up to 10 ft. tall<br />River bushwillow- grows 30-35 ft. tall , fast growing interesting fruit and attractive foliage<br />Kangaroo Paw- red and green floral emblem of western australia, grows up to 10 cm. long<br />Whistling Thorn- an acacia tree that is found in east africa and can grow up to 18 ft<br />

  5. 5. Unique Landforms<br />The Tropical Savannah is filled with vast plains, small rivers, and mountain ranges.<br />Ex. The Tanzanian Landscape is located in Africa, and is connected to Kenya and Masai Mara<br />

Destruction of Biome<br />The destruction of the tropical savannah biome is due to high temperatures, which leads to dehydration, and the animals water source is dwindling due to over-crowded habitats.<br />Poachers play another role in the destruction of the biome, by killing many endangered species that paly important roles in the biome.<br />
  7. 7. Agriculture<br />The agriculture for a Tropical Savannah is mostly made up of vast grasslands, small shrubs and trees . <br />
  8. 8. Tourist Attractions<br />Beaches and national parks are the main tourist attractions.<br />Beaches on the east coast that stretches down to the eastern cape<br />National parks that are famous are ; ukhahlambadrakensberg park and kgalagaditransfrontier park<br />
  9. 9. Conservation Efforts<br />Some conservation efforts towards keeping the tropical savannah in tact are that poaching is now outlawed.<br />
