In the directory you can find, download, rate, and comment on all the best plugins the WordPress community has to offer.” I liken them to apps. Apple may say “There’s an App for that”. WordPress.com users cannot use plugins.They do however have the most popular plugin functionalities added to their websites.They can also request plugin functionality be added to WordPress.com. Find out more here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/plugins/ WordPress.org users, also known as self- hosted WordPress have access to any plugin they can install and will find a plugin tab in their administrative interface.   5. 5. How Do I Pick A Plugin? Download them from the WordPress.org repository. Check to see what version of WordPress the plugin is compatible with. Look to see when it was last updated. Go to Plugin > Add New From there you can either search for a plugin within the WordPress plugin repository, or you can click Upload to download a plugin you have downloaded from an external website.
