Dissembling the Peltier lower tool

  1. 1. 1. Hold the upper surface and detach the plastic shield carefully
  2. 2. 2. Loosen the four screws, hold the central metallic plate and detach the second plastic shield.
  3. 3. 3. The two wires are in contact with the metallic (copper) plate. One is the thermal sensor, inserted in a hole; another is the ground wire attached with a screw. Lossen this screw and the copper plate is removable. Below the copper plate is the thermoelectric cooler (TEC). TEC
  4. 4. 4. The two wires of the TEC, red and black, are soldered with the corresponding wires from the inside of the instrument. They are further fixed by a screw. Loosen it, detach the wires at the connection with a soldering iron, turn the rheometer’s power on, and turn on the environment controller. Measure the voltage between the two wires from the inside of the instrument with a multimeter. It should be 15.4 V DC if the current room temperature differ enough from the set-point temperature. 15.4 V DC
