  2. 2. Before The War <ul><li>Nesse was born in 1928. </li></ul><ul><li>Nesse’s family had a Dairy business. </li></ul>
  3. 3. During The War <ul><li>Germans occupied Lithuania in 1941. </li></ul><ul><li>To be allowed in to the ghettos you had to show a cerificate. </li></ul><ul><li>People without were put in Synagogues. </li></ul><ul><li>Ten thousand jewish people were put in two ghettos. </li></ul>
  4. 4. During The War <ul><li>Nesse lived in the ghetto until 1943 </li></ul><ul><li>In 1944 Nesse, her mother and a brother were deported to the Stutthof camp near Danzig. </li></ul><ul><li>By the time the ghettos were formed August or September half the population were killed. </li></ul>
  5. 5. After The War <ul><li>She was liberated by the soviets in March. </li></ul><ul><li>Nesse, her mother, and two brothers survived and she arrived in the United States in 1950. </li></ul>
