4. What’s
different
compared to
the last big
desktop
deployment?
Directory services are moving to the cloud as the fabric for
connecting to cloud-based services across apps and services
Both Windows 10 and Office 365 ProPlus are evergreen – there is no
more 3-year cycle of huge upgrade projects
64-bit is recommended for most Office users, and is now the default
for installations on new computers
Microsoft Intune can manage Windows 10 policies, your connected
apps and be configured for co-management with ConfigMgr
Office 365 ProPlus is the most productive, most secure, lowest Total
Cost of Ownership version of Office – recommended for most users
Office 365 ProPlus and Windows 10 both offer semi-annual feature
updates and cumulative monthly security and bug fix updates

Slide objective: Explain how FastTrack can help you get to a modern desktop.
When it comes to the modern desktop, FastTrack provides remote assistance to help you with deployment, servicing, and to address blockers, based on eligibility requirements. Specifically, FastTrack helps deploy EMS and configure co-management; they help you deploy and configure a number of things related to Windows and Office 365 ProPlus; and they have the new Desktop App Assure service to help you with application compatibility. They can also help you find a partner for Windows 7 or 8.1 to Windows 10 deployment scenarios. All of this guidance is based on engineering experience and best practices.
FastTrack is included as a repeatable benefit, at no additional cost to you, in your eligible subscription. In terms of FastTrack eligibility, all customers can log in to the FastTrack online portal to access planning resources and training assets with an Azure AD account. If you have more than 150 seats, you have access to FastTrack specialists to support your Microsoft 365 cloud deployment and adoption process. For those of you with 500+ seats, FastTrack will perform your data/email migration for you, freeing up time to allow you to deploy more products at one time. Refer to the service description for details on data migration at https://aka.ms/fasttrackservicedescription
We have a FastTrack booth in the expo hub, so please stop by if you have questions or to learn more about our best practices and resources. You can also visit www.Microsoft.com/FastTrack for guidance, resources, and to sign in to your account. From there, you can submit a Request for Assistance to start your FastTrack engagement and set implementation and user adoption goals by creating a Success Plan. I encourage you to review the resources online and then you’ll be on your way to a modern desktop.
