    2. 2. WHERE IS AUSTRALIA? <ul><li>AUSTRALIA IS located to the southern hemisphere including the mainland of the Australian continent, the island of Tasmania and numerous smaller islands in the Southern Pacific and Indian Oceans. </li></ul>

    7. 7. AYERS ROCK (ULURU) <ul><li>It is considered the largest solitary rock on the planet. </li></ul><ul><li>Its surface is made of red sandstone. </li></ul><ul><li>It is a holy place and called Uluru by the aboriginal peoples. </li></ul><ul><li>It is 348 metres high. </li></ul>
    8. 8. <ul><li>The Bluff Knoll </li></ul><ul><li>It is a peak in the Stirling Range in the south-west of Western Australia. </li></ul><ul><li>It is 1,099 metres above sea level. </li></ul><ul><li>It is one of only a few places to have regular snowfalls in Western Australia, with some snow reported in most years. </li></ul>

Great Barrier Reef <ul><li>It is the world’s largest coral reef. </li></ul><ul><li>The reef is located in the Coral Sea, next to the coast of Queensland in north-east Australia. </li></ul><ul><li>The Great Barrier Reef can be seen from outer space and is the world's biggest single structure made by living organisms. </li></ul>

BODIES OF WATER: AUSTRALIA. <ul><li>LAKE ALBERT : </li></ul><ul><li>It is a fresh water lake near the mouth of the Murray river. </li></ul><ul><li>Its water comes from Lake Alexandrina. </li></ul><ul><li>It is separate on the South by the Narrung Peninsula. </li></ul><ul><li>The Lake Albert is much more salty than the Lake Alexandrina. LOCALIZATION: South Australia. </li></ul>
