This document discusses different types of fears that people experience, including classic fears, medical fears, fears of climate change and poverty. It questions whether all fears are rational, and provides examples to show that some fears are exaggerated based on statistics. The document also examines causes of death globally and in developed vs developing countries. It discusses the effects of fear and how fear is used as a tool to control populations. The topic of terrorism is analyzed, comparing the number of deaths from terrorist attacks to World Wars. The document proposes an initiative called "EndFear" to rationalize fears through education and celebrates ending irrational fears on September 11th, 2011.

Some fears are created by fantasy and feed on our most primal instincts Monsters under the bed or zombies attacking us in a cemetery are pure imagination Nevertheless they are powerful images of fear
Some animals fuel more realistic and tangible fears. We have all been scared by a barking dog We have all thought of sharks while swimming in open waters We have all jumped at the sight of a rat or a snake.
The fear of pain and suffering is as powerful as any Dentists and hospitals remind us of pain, suffering, and death. They are places we'd rather avoid. And no one enjoys a visit to the dentist
A boiling planet or a frozen planet... whatever the consequences of global warming, both alternatives are a risk to our livelihood Grim documentaries, 2012, the movie, and constant news reports, help keep us up at night
Materialism is based on fake needs. Do you need a car? or do you need the ride? an answering machine? or the message Do you need a drill? or a hole Do you need an MP3 player? or your music
What will be remembered as the greatest fear of our time... What is known as terrorism and islamic extreemism Since 9/11, we have all at some time feared the presence of dark skinned men, especially if they were sitting a few rows behind us on a plane. The images of the 9/11 terror attacks are imprinted in our brain as the most horrifying event of our time.
What will be remembered as the greatest fear of our time... Terrorism and islamic extreemism are on the news every day. Since 9/11, we have all at some point feared the presence of dark skinned men, especially if they were sitting a few rows behind us on a plane. The images of the 9/11 terror attacks are imprinted in our brain as the most horrifying event of our time.
Not all of us adhere to the same fears. some are scared by peak oil, by religions, by military police, by chemtrails Others by the dark, or heights, or whatever is under the bed. Some are afraid of not being loved, or being alone some fear old age All these fears beg one question....
Most people would rather not die. We want to live and see what's next. We believe that the future will always be brighter, and therefore we want to see it. But few realize that a brighter future can only be created by us.. those who want it.
In the US; - about 3 people die every year by shaking vending machines and being crushed by their fall more people die under vending machines than by shark attacks.
In the US; - about 25 people die electrecuted while working with electric appliances, more than spider, dog, and snake related deaths combined.
- Bikes kill more than 750 people a year, more than terrorism over a 5 year period. So should we fear bikes? No... look down and fear your shoes.
Should we stop walking? How can we avoid death?
The only thing sure in life... death and taxes. But wait... we could refuse to pay our taxes.... That leaves us with DEATH The only sure bet.
When we're dead, we won't be worrying about how it happened... When we're alive, we shouldn't worry either... and just focus on the alive part. But maybe the way we die does matter No one would want to die a long, painful, agonizing death. Right? Unfortunately that scenario has the highest odds of happening.
Diseases, cancers, lung and heart failures are the top killers. But another powerful killer in the western world is stress. Hypertensive heart disease, lung cancer & respiratory infections (smoking), car accidents (late, on the phone, tired, etc..), suicide. the fears we discussed play an important role in stress related deaths. Note that terrorism and war are not included in the top 10 causes fro 2001 In poor countries, poverty and death are a daily affair, there is less to fear... Death is closer to reality, less mysterious and fear provoking.
- Who is the victim? The "deadly" Piranha fish never killed a human being, there is simply no record in history... this only happened in movies. thousands of Piranha fish are caught, dried, and sold by humans as souvenirs every year. They are also eaten by local tribes Actually Piranhas should have horror movies about humans. Our perception of reality is flawed when seen through fear.
Our survival instincts tell us to stay away from what we fear. When we do that, we also fail to understand what we fear, and are therefore unable to take any action to change the situation. If we hide from our fears, we will never conquer them.
If we don't understand what the fear is, and how it possesses us, we cannot fight it. Is one man with a gun truly more powerfull than 100 slaves? Can 1% of the population of a country truly hold down the other 99% Yes... if they are all afraid, they are powerless.
Let's take a closer look at a fear tool terrorism, is this a rational fear?
Terrorism is a tactic used by desperate or ideologically twisted people against those they cannot otherwise defeat. Palestinians will never defeat the Israeli army through a conventional war Just like Afghan resistance fighters would not be able to fight a fair fight against missile carrying drones. Terrorism is generally created through oppression and enslavement of the weak but it is also used by some who have lost all sense of reality through religious or ideological brain washing. But can you point to a terrorist? Can you describe one... Nationality? Religion? Gender?
The other 4 were: 2 From UAE United Arab Emirates 1 from Egypt 1 From Lebanon. But they were all Muslim... so is Islam the target of the war on terror?
If we were fighting islam, these should be our main targets. Is Asia the target for the war on terror?
Tim McVeigh bombed a buildingin Oklahoma and killed 168 people by bombing a building Ted Kaczinki only made a dozen victims, but he kept the US terrorized for close to 20 years Mr von brunn decided to shoot at the holocaust museum in Washington DC And Joe Stack, inspired by the NY events, flew a plane into an IRS government building in Austin Texas All Americans... Is the US the target for the war on terror?
None of these ladies are Muslim. Mother Theresa of Calcutta is top left Are Nuns the target for the war on terror?
Main terrorist attacks in these first 10 years of the second millennium A tragic number... almost 4000 people lost their lives This is clearly a problem, so what did we do after the first attack? Asked why was the US attacked? Who was behind it? Did we follow the money trails, address the root... or Start two wars?
World war III was the cold war. It included the wars of Korea, Vietnam, and China during the "Great Leap Forward" World war IV is the WAR on Terror (details on next slide) If we compare the 3882 deaths to just the current world war, which according to studies (no official numbers are available) is over 1 million, 0,4% of those killed were killed by terrorists, the rest by the "solution" From a "revenge" or punishment perspective, 330 random arab people are killed for every single victim of 9/11... and it's not over.
A war involving 51 countries (including Iraq and Afghanistan) is a world war. Germany was not in the coalition of the willing, but joined in the "peace keeping" mission in Afghanistan Germany currently has 4,590 soldiers in Afghanistan
Since it is now proven that Iraq and Afghanistan never attacked the US, why are we at war with them? What are the real objectives? Who are the players? What is the prize? Was the war forced to start with a good excuse, a staged attack that would provide public support. A false flag operation?
Has the world improved since 9/11? Tollerance, understanding Safety, security Integration, peace Humanity or Love...
