1. 1. The musical style and popular artists
My magazine will be for girls aged between 16 and 19 years. The music that my magazine will be based on is pop. It will focus on the sub genres of: indie pop and urban pop, for example Pixie Lott, The Saturdays and Rihanna will be included in the magazine. These are popular with my target audience and are often ranked high in the UK charts.
2. 2. Visual Iconography
The genre of my magazine is pop music.
The colours used throughout the magazine will be bold and striking that have feminine
connotations. For example, bright pinks, oranges, yellows and blues. These will revolve and alter
to suit my main cover image.
The clothing that will be used in the magazine will be based on artists like Pixie Lott and Rihanna.
This is because this type of style is popular with the target audience.
3. 3. Demographic
The people that will listen to this music will be females of the 16-19. they will like high street fashion for example Topshop and urban outfitters. These shops are quite expensive but they are of the legal age to have a job, this reflects the quality of the magazine and that they are willing to pay a fair amount for the magazine.
4. 4. Housestyle
Layout style
It will be neatly arranged on the page and have a sophisticated look to it. The bold colours will give the pages its edginess and allude to the genre of pop.
This is an example of what my double page spread will be like, however it will be suitable for my magazine genre
The clothes used in the photos will be current fashionable clothing that relate to the artists style.
6. 6. Language style
The language will be informal as if you are having a conversation with someobady that you know. Although it will not use colloquial slang and words that ‘teenagers’ supposedly use, as this is a turn off for teenagers when they read a magazine because it seems like they’re trying too hard.
7. 7. Feature article topic
My feature article topic will be an interview of an upcoming pop star that is ‘storming the charts’. It will include an introduction of the star then interview questions. The questions will be in bold, and the answer will be in plain underneath – like a typical magazine interview layout. The questions will include stuff about the new single released and aspects of their life now they have become a celebrity.
