  9. 9. official website & identity Miss-Janet became Janet Jackson’s Official Fan Club by default in 2001. The site was a pioneer in fansites when it began in 1997, but it needed a major facelift to accommodate it’s growing popularity. A new, brighter, fun design was created and all previ- ous material was then integrated to the new design as well as the addition of new interactive features.   10. 10. MTV Networks illustration/animation A new, musical biography show created by MTV entitled BIOrhythm. In this premiere episode for Janet Jackson, the producers wanted to create animation segments remi- niscent to the style of the old Jackson 5 ani- mated series, but with an edge to comple- ment Janet’s modern style. The segments were integrated with music and video foot- age for a kaleidoscope of fantastic imagery. The program was the highest rated first season episode of any MTV show in history. The show received a 1.9 rating on it’s debut, by comparison, MTV’s The Real World rated about a .5 or .6 for the first three years and was considered a huge success. Because of the program’s phenomenal success and dynamic style, it was included in an exhibit entitled Janet Jackson: From Good Times to Great Videos at The Museum of Television and Radio in New York and L.A. The exhibit was co-sponsored by Entertainment Tonight as part of a salute to “Excellence on Television.”

Because these materials are distributed both to average consumers as well as business executives, Kellum wanted a sophisticated yet simple look.

Perilous Times theatre program & souvenir book The souvenir book is a popular item among the audience because it includes large pictures and full bios of cast members, some of them national celebrities such as Tommy Ford of the TV show, Martin, Gary Jenkins of the R&B group, Silk, and Tommy “Debo” Lister from the hit comedy Friday.
