Work From Home Online - Does the Thought of Writing an Article Leave You Paralyzed by Fear?

 1. 1. Work From Home Online - Does the Thought of Writing an Article Leave Your Paralyzed by Fear?
By Susan Kimbrell
2. 2. For anyone trying to make it in the work from home online business, it's not uncommon to hear over and over that "content is king". Well, they're right - it's hard to get your point across or to make a compelling case for selling something if your website doesn't have some well written content on it. But if you're not a very good writer, what do you do?
3. 3. Let's assume you need to write the content/article/blog yourself and don't have the money to pay someone else to do it. The first thing you need to do is research your subject and the way to do that is to look at what other people have written in your niche. Conduct a search on Google or EzineArticles or any of the other search engines or articles directories. You'll be surprised at just how much information you can have at your fingertips very quickly.
4. 4. You can learn a lot about your niche from other people's websites but under no circumstances should you "borrow" their content and try to pass it off as your own. That's just bad business.
5. 5. Instead, try to put together a summary of what you've learned from several sources. Put it in your own words and write it like you're talking to someone. Keep it simple and be natural - don't try to emulate someone else's style. There are some extremely talented writers out there but don't let that intimidate you. More often than not, the people who write their own blogs and articles are not professional writers.
6. 6. Just say what you want to say and then go back and tweak it. If you just get over the fear and start writing, you may find that you're better than you think you are. And as we've always been told, practice makes perfect. The more you do it, the better you'll get.
7. 7. Additionally, if you're wanting to write an article to submit to an article directory but don't want to be embarrassed by your writing skills, simply use a pen name until you get comfortable enough to use your own.
8. 8. Overcoming the fear of writing an article is not hard if you simply put forth the effort. And you'll find that it's well worth the effort because when you master it, you'll be able to sit down at the computer and write at will because you'll have confidence in your ability.
9. 9. In my quest to be able to work from home online and do it in a way that allowed me to quit my full-time job, I quickly learned that there is no such thing as something for nothing - everything requires some level of effort. Educate yourself and get out there and just do it! I'd love to see you on my site that covers information on Home Based Work.
