17 November: "Story of Jonah"

  1. 1. Jonah 1:1-3 Now the word of the LORD came to Jonah the son of Amittaim saying, “Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and cry out against it; for their wickedness has come up before Me.” But Jonah arose to flee to Tarshish from the presence of the LORD. He went down to Joppa and found a ship going to Tarshish; so he paid the fare, and went down into it, to go with them to Tarshish from the presence of the LORD
  2. 2. verse 5 “All the sailors were afraid and each cried out to his own god. And they threw the cargo into the sea to lighten the ship. But Jonah had gone below deck, where he lay down and fell into a deep sleep." Verse 6 “The captain went to him and said „get up and call on your god! Maybe he will take note of us, and we will not perish”
  3. 3. V 12 “Pick me up and throw me into the sea… and it will become calm”
