1) Superelastic wires

2) Self etching primers
Braces are glued to teeth after etching tooth enamel with an acid .
Resultant microporosities in enamel with special adhesive help to glue
bracket to the tooth surface. This has got disadvantage that overetching
with acid can damage enamel irreversibly and make tooth more prone
to cavities or discoloration. Also after the braces are removed
sometimes the glue marks stay on the tooth surface.
With self etching primer this is minimized and tooth has more
chance to remain shiny and glossy even after long orthodontic
treatment.
3) Indirect bonding
In indirect bracket bonding, Austin Orthodontic brackets are positioned
precisely on patient’s plaster models which is transferred to the
patient’s teeth using transfer trays. Indirect bonding technique which
reduces patient’s chair time drastically in addition to improved
bracket positioning. Also it reduces the total treatment time due to

2. 4 ) Monocrystalline ceramic brackets with glazed slot
Monocrystalline ceramic brackets are more transluscent ( like tooth
enamel ) and hence are less discernible compared to polycrystalline
ceramic brackets.
Treatment with ceramic brackets usually lasts longer compared
to steel brackets because they offer resistance to free sliding of
orthodontic wire in the slot. Glazing of the ceramic bracket slot has
minimized this frictional tendency. Hence the treatment can be
finished well in time.
5) Self ligating brackets
Self ligating brackets have inbuilt ligation for securing orthodontic
wires in bracket slot. This not only reduces chair time in changing the
wires but also makes the treatment faster due to reduced friction. No
separate ligation means there is less discomfort to the patient and no
pokey wires.
6) Orthodontic implants
Austin Orthodontics implants are miniature screws which are
painlessly fixed in the bone around the teeth. These implants offer additional
anchorage or support for variety of tooth movements which were considered
