Zungueira Leadership
It’s a concept that comes from observing the behavior of zungueiras (Angolan women that are street vendors) who wake up at the crack of dawn, put their basin on their heads, and walk the streets looking for customers so they can earn an honest living. Zungueiras spend all day under the sun, subject to everything, but do not give up their great goal, which is to seek support for the child that is on their back and others who stayed at home. Most of them have given up on themselves, but never on the hope of creating a brighter future their family. As a result of their hard work and perseverance, they guarantee their children's education, and that makes them exclaim with pride as they pat themselves on the back screaming: "I’m a Zungueira, but I formed my children who are Doctors today!"
Zungueiras are a symbol of struggle, determination, resilience and faith.
They support one another, share their problems, protect one another, help one another and carry with them a high sense of survival instinct, for they know that failure is not an option.
*Zungueira Leadership* is giving up our dreams, our pleasures, our generation, for the sake of future generations.
“A generation that must sacrifice itself so that the next does not experience the same difficulties.”
