The aim is not only to raise awareness of key health and safety issues facing the construction industry specific to your trade, but also to give practical advice on how to avoid risks on construction sites. He will describe the most important risk areas and the hierarchy of precautions which may be used to manage these risks, including planning the work and selecting the most appropriate equipment. To be followed by a rolling programme of talks and practical demonstrations on the following topics: u Ladders and safety systems - practical demonstration u Choosing the right equipment - an introduction to HSE’s Toolkit u Scaffold design and standards - practical demonstration u Life after an accident - guest speaker talks first-hand about the impact on his life Plus free exhibition with distributors and suppliers of new equipment, services, ideas and solutions.
