History <ul><li>The construction of the Tian Tan Buddha started at the beginning of 1990, and was completed on December 29, 1993,which was the birthday of Sakyamuni, the historic Buddha </li></ul><ul><li>The construction cost of the Big Buddha was $68 million </li></ul><ul><li>The hill top site was chosen because it was close to the Po Lin Monastery and to symbolize the harmonious relationship between man and nature </li></ul>

Al-Masjid al-Ḥarām <ul><li>Al-Masjid al-Ḥarām is the largest Mosque in the world </li></ul><ul><li>The current structure covers an area of 356,800 square metres and can accommodate up to 4 million worshippers during the Hajj period </li></ul><ul><li>The Kaaba is located in this Mosque and is the sacred place to the Muslim faith </li></ul>
