  2. 2. My Ingredients <ul><li>Cupcake A </li></ul><ul><li>Cake Mix – 2 Eggs – ¾ cup water – ¾ </li></ul><ul><li>stick of butter. </li></ul><ul><li>Cupcake B </li></ul><ul><li>Cake Mix – 1 Egg – ¼ stick of butter – no </li></ul><ul><li>water. </li></ul>
  3. 3. My Hypothesis <ul><li>I am not adding water to cupcake B. So I think cupcake B will bake up smaller and probably not taste right. I believe cupcake B will look funny too. </li></ul>
  4. 4. Batters for cupcakes A and B <ul><li>A looks nice and moist. </li></ul><ul><li>B looks lumpy and sticky. </li></ul><ul><li>A was very easy to mix. </li></ul><ul><li>B was very hard to mix without water. </li></ul>
  5. 5. Now let’s test them and see which one bakes better!
  6. 6. See the differences? The middles of B fell. The inside of A is fluffy.
  7. 7. Time for tasting! <ul><li>Cupcake A was yummy. </li></ul><ul><li>It was nice and fluffy. </li></ul><ul><li>It cooked just right. </li></ul><ul><li>A is a keeper. </li></ul><ul><li>Cupcake B was gross. </li></ul><ul><li>It tasted heavy. </li></ul><ul><li>It stuck to the roof of my mouth. </li></ul><ul><li>The center was gooey. </li></ul>
  8. 8. My results! <ul><li>B cupcakes baked much bigger, and the middles of them shrunk inside. The texture of the B cupcakes were very heavy and tasted thick and sticky. </li></ul><ul><li>A cupcakes baked just right and were light and fluffy. </li></ul>
  9. 9. In Conclusion <ul><li>My hypothesis was partly correct. Cupcake B did taste funny and looked funny. I was wrong in how it baked. I thought it would be smaller and it baked much bigger than cupcake A. </li></ul><ul><li>I learned that you should always follow the directions, because adding the water makes a huge difference in the taste, look, and texture of your cupcake. </li></ul>
