“My professors were interested in me personally....KWC faculty
focuses on individual students and their learning experience.”

                                         Andrew Johanneman
                                   Kentucky Wesleyan College

                                                                 16
Summarizing the current situation:
•AIKCU colleges and universities continue to innovate
and succeed, in spite of difficult economic times.

•The positive support CPE and its staff provides to
independent colleges continues to pay dividends for the
 Commonwealth.

•The return of the state’s limited investment in student
financial aid is significant and provides access and
opportunity for Kentuckians choosing to enroll at public
 or independent colleges and universities.

•CPE’s commitment to assuring that all colleges and
universities meet the same quality standards protects
 students’ and the Commonwealth’s investment.

                                                            17
Enhancing the contribution of the
independent sector:
•Identify additional funding sources to support an
adequately funded student financial aid program.

•Take greater advantage of opportunities to leverage the
private sector’s strengths, especially its facilities and
 personnel.

• Encourage state policymakers to develop policies that
mutually benefit public and independent sectors.

                                                             18

  • 17. Summarizing the current situation: •AIKCU colleges and universities continue to innovate and succeed, in spite of difficult economic times. •The positive support CPE and its staff provides to independent colleges continues to pay dividends for the Commonwealth. •The return of the state’s limited investment in student financial aid is significant and provides access and opportunity for Kentuckians choosing to enroll at public or independent colleges and universities. •CPE’s commitment to assuring that all colleges and universities meet the same quality standards protects students’ and the Commonwealth’s investment. 17
  • 18. Enhancing the contribution of the independent sector: •Identify additional funding sources to support an adequately funded student financial aid program. •Take greater advantage of opportunities to leverage the private sector’s strengths, especially its facilities and personnel. • Encourage state policymakers to develop policies that mutually benefit public and independent sectors. 18
