  2. 2. 3 D AY S O F C O N N E C T I O N “As practitioners in the field of leadership development, we need to think ahead in terms of how coaching can best evolve to something more fluid. We need to help educate managers and leaders on how they can scale coaching in their organizations more effectively.” Natalie Schurmann, MSC Brussels, Belgium
  3. 3. W E T O O K A WAY I N C R E D I B L E L E A R N S Dr. Richard Boyatzis
  4. 4. Cecilia Carter, MBA , ACC New York, NY Jonathan Kirshner, Psy.D. Philadelphia, PA “The message that still resonates with me is a quote from Richard Boyatzis: 'The only legacy we have in life are the people we touch.’ It's why I entered this profession. The advancement of technological changes will increase the access and impact of coaching, truly allowing us to change the world one person at a time. And that is a beautiful thing.” “I left the conference deep in thought around how AI and machine learning will impact our coaching industry, our workforce, and the global economy. Will AI replace the need for human intervention or augment? I'm of course in the camp of "augment"...but does "augment" contain a hidden slippery slope? I presume we'll find out in 2 years time (which is 50 years in technology time).” “The future of coaching will require that we professionalize and continue to provide value for our clients through the embrace of technology, mindfulness, and advances in neuroscience.” Jamie Ramsden, MBA, ACC Charlotte, NC

W E S H A R E D O U R T H O U G H T S O N T H E F U T U R E O F C O A C H I N G REDEFINING THE EXPERIENCE AND PROMISE OF EXECUTIVE COACHING BY NATALIYA ADELSON, PH.D. & JONATHAN KIRSCHNER, PSY.D. www.aiirconsulting.com “The conference served as a reminder that we live in a rapidly changing VUCA world … exponential rate of change / technology disruption (David Peterson's keynote) requires that we (coaches) continuously cultivate effective methodologies, new skill sets and expertise in the science and mechanisms of accelerated leadership development.” Nataliya Adelson, Ph.D. Princeton, NJ
  7. 7. “I learned Fixed Mindset vs. Growth Mindset, which is useful for working with coachees who lack self-awareness around how their ‘fixed’ perceptions can be self-limiting. By adopting a more flexible growth mindset, coachees can attract and enhance relationships. Paul Curci Philadelphia, PA “I learned the significant role that Positive Emotional Attractors (PEA) and Negative Emotional Attractors (NEA) play in our coaching work and day-to-day interactions. PEA creates readiness for growth and NEA constricts, protects and defends.” David Ehrmann Boston, MA “A question can be an invitation, a request or a missile. What impact do you want your questions to have?” My other key takeaways were: • Questions are a linguistic vehicle for curiosity. • Every time we ask a question we are cultivating curiosity and discovery. • Questions are like treasures hidden in broad daylight. • A Question not asked is a door not opened • A Question calls forth that which does not yet exist Geetu Bharwaney London, UK
  8. 8. COMING TOGETHER AS A TEAM
  9. 9. “The future of coaching combines the best of human-to-human coaching along with new practices created by advances in brain science and augmented intelligence powered by emerging technologies.” “We need to help leaders see the magnificence of their teams and unleash their team potential. I was reminded about the paradoxical nature of coaching a team. On the one hand it is entirely complex because the team is part of such a larger system. On the other hand, coaching a team is as simple as helping a group of people learn how to communicate with each other in new ways.” Therese Heege, M.S., ACC Milwaukee, WI Mike Saporito, MBA Cincinnati, OH “The buyers of coaching are becoming more sophisticated! Be it assessments, technology for coaching or just measuring ROI.” Shefali Salwan, MBA New York, NY
