Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the last few years, chances are you’ve got some inkling that Web 2.0 has shed its toddler status.   So, what’s that got to do with project management? Well, if you do a keyword search on project management and Web 2.0 or social media , it seems not much that yet.   Technology helps us get things done and there’s nothing new about biz wanting it done bigger, better, faster, but with Web 2.0 faster just took on lightening speed. Zero to the speed of light in less than four years…

How companies are using 2.0 tech “… business use 12 technologies and tools : blogs, mash-ups (a Web application that combines multiple sources of data into a single tool), microblogging, peer to peer, podcasts, prediction markets, rating, RSS (Really Simple Syndication), social networking, tagging, video sharing, and wikis Significant increases in the percentage of companies using social networking ( 40% ) and blogs ( 38% ). Number of employees using the dozen Web 2.0 technologies continues to increase.
