  2. 2. The Mouth <ul><li>Just imagine, as you are innocently eating a bagel, a whole entire process was taking place inside your body. The processes are known as Chemical and Mechanical digestion . </li></ul>
  3. 3. Teeth <ul><li>Your teeth begins the process by crushing, tearing, and ripping the bagel apart--until the wheat is simplified into its nutrient form, carbohydrates. </li></ul>
  4. 4. The Esophagus <ul><li>After the “ bolus ” (food) passes the trachea, it shoots down the food tube, the esophagus . </li></ul><ul><li>Some people believe it can shoot down the esophagus because of gravity, but this is a myth . </li></ul>
  5. 5. 38-3 : The Excretory System
  6. 6. The kidneys <ul><li>The two kidneys are the most valuable organs of the excretory system </li></ul>
  7. 7. The Pancreas and Liver <ul><li>The pancreas can make enzymes to simplify carbohydrates, lipids, proteins, and nucleic acids </li></ul><ul><li>The liver, on the other hand, makes the fluid bile, that deteriorates the fat in fatty foods. </li></ul>
