  3. 3. Love and Marriage <ul><li>Cleopatra was married twice to Roman men. (She had two marriages before that, but they did not last long.) </li></ul>
  4. 4. Julius Caesar <ul><li>The first marriage was to a man named Julius Caesar , a famous emperor of Rome. (An emperor is to Rome as a pharaoh is to Egypt.) With Caesar, Cleopatra had one child. </li></ul>
  5. 5. Mark Antony <ul><li>After Julius Caesar died, Cleopatra married another Roman, named Mark Antony . With Mark Antony, Cleopatra had three children. </li></ul>
  6. 6. Death <ul><li>According to myth (a story passed down for many years), Cleopatra took her own life by having a poisonous snake bite her on the chest. </li></ul>
  7. 7. Reasoning <ul><li>The reason she did that is because she knew that her kingdom, Egypt, was going to be taken by Rome, and she did not want to see that happen. </li></ul>
