September 8th, 2013 Published by: adrianejolly 1 Empowering Entrepreneurs Improving Communication with Prospects and Customers September 8th, 2013 The definition of communication Communication [kuh-myoo-ni-key- shuhn] — n 1. the act or an instance of communicating; the imparting or exchange of information, ideas, or feelings. Communication is not only important in our personal relationships, but also it impacts our business. Our ultimate goals when building relationships with our prospects and customers are utilizing great communication skills, effectively giving and receiving information, and taking that information and helping them solve their problems and achieve their goals. There are four key points to consider when improving communication skills: 1. Building Rapport- Finding out information about prospective business partners and customers. One way to accomplish this is utilizing the F.O.R.M method: F.O.R.M method is a way to formulate relationship building questions to based around a prospect's or customer's family, occupation, what that individual does for recreation, and the message that you want to give that person to help them solve a problem. Here are some examples of questions you can ask using the F.O.R.M. method. F- Family- Where are you from? How many children do you have? O- Occupation-What do you do? Tell me more about what you do? What do you like most about your job? R- Recreation- What do you like to do for fun? What are your hobbies? What do you do when you are not working? M- Message -(what you want to accomplish to help them) 1. Build Curiosity- do not lead with the product, lead with what you learned from asking the questions above to satisfy their wants and needs. 2. Eager want to accomplish wants, needs and goals-Use the information gathered from the questions asked to inspire an

Build Trust • Trust is built based on the questions that you ask them- The key is to be genuinely concerned about who they are. • Let the customer or prospect tell you about themselves so that you can find out the information…people love to talk about themselves…If you listen twice as much as you talk, you will find how you can help them. 3. Create an eager want • Get to know what they want and build a bridge between what they want and how you can help them get it! 4. Investigate the prospect or customer during the conversation …and locate their specific • Needs • Strengths • And Goals 5 things that can build rapport with a prospect, encourage relationship building, and improve communication with others are: 1. Smiles- Shows that you are interested, changes your body language and the atmosphere. (Even smile when talking to customers or prospective business partners over the phone believe it or not, your smile resonates over the phone...there is a huge difference in the sound of your voice...you can hear the smile...) 2. Compliment or words of encouragement- Shows appreciation and brightens one’s day. Always be genuine. 3. Make a real friend—If you help people get what they want you will always get what you want…Take your self out of the equation. It is all about them. Friends are great resources for business and make they make life more fulfilling. 4. Listen and Pay Attention- Pay attention to what matters to them what is important for their needs, strengths and goals. 5. Control the conversation- The one who is asking the questions control the conversation…become great with asking questions…Get them talking about themselves…it will help build more trust. (Can you believe that the year is halfway over?) We should take a look back at the past 5-6 months and take an inventory of our current situation and planning on how to make things different and efforts intentional for the remaining half of 2013. This is the time that we reflect, evaluate and adjust our business plan to be successful the remainder of the year. As a result, we set up clear intentions for our original
  3. 3. September 8th, 2013 Published by: adrianejolly 3 goals. We still have to continue setting clear intentions and reevaluate our marketing plan throughout the year. This will make a little more sense later in this post....Let's define intention: Intention [in-ten-shuhn] noun 1. an act or instance of determining mentally upon some action or result. 2. the end or object intended; purpose. 3. intentions. a. purpose or attitude toward the effect of one’s actions or conduct: a bungler with good intentions. b. purpose or attitude with respect to marriage: Our friends are beginning to ask what our intentions are. 4. the act or fact of intending. When you are setting these crystal clear intentions, don't make them empty promises to yourself. You may be asking how to do that? Here's How... 1.Make a list of your intentions 2.Set a Goal for each intention with a deadline. Write it down! 3.Create a step-by-step plan for achieving the goal in writing! 4.Everyday set aside a time go over your written goals and visualize yourself achieving your goal (Very important to get that energy out there to attract it to you!) Implementation: the key to getting back to work after setting goals. Implementation Earlier this year, I had make a post about implementation. This is pretty much a review about on how to implement your goals after re-evaluating your results at the halfway mark of the year. Sometimes we get stuck on the intentions and never get started doing or never take a look at the results we are having. That is where implementation comes into play... Know your numbers then reevaluate to see what you have been doing is working to see if you are hitting your marks: You need to know how much of X it takes to get Y then see if you are hitting your goals that you made at the beginning of the year…if you have not been hitting your goals then you may have to tweak your marketing strategy or throw out what is not working and setup a new marketing strategy. For example of a marketing strategy: If your leads convert at approximately 10%. For every 10 leads a sale will be generated... So, if the goal is to have 2 sign ups per day, AT LEAST 20 free leads per day need to be generated. By knowing your numbers, you can determine what your daily requirements are to reach your desired goals. Know your methods: #Choose 2 free and 1 paid marketing strategy #Blogging is not an option. It is a requirement, especiallywhen creating your brand …This is my first free marketing strategy. Make Blogging Fun. Every post doesn’t have to always be some ‘value-filled’ post. Of course, provide value, but you can have fun posts too. Check this blog post out! # Another preferred free marketing method is video. Creating 5 videos per day generates approximately 2 leads per day, If you learn how to rank videos you can still produce 5 videos per day but you would get a better return for time invested. Tweak the plan and produce 2 videos per day. One of those videos will be keyword rich video, and that particular video will rank on YouTube. #Solo Ads is the best way to build a list quickly. That will be my preferred paid method of marketing for remainder of 2013. You’ve got your goals from the beginning of the year. You’ve got your current numbers. You’ve got methods. Now Evaluate, Tweak or Re-Create Your plan for the remainder of the year. After you’ve implemented your tweaked or new plan, start back TRACKING your progress for 30 days, look at what’s working. Look at what’s not quite yielding the results you want. Tweak ONE THING AT A TIME. Then Repeat every 30 days! Building a list ensures that you have an audience to talk to whenever you have something of value to share, whether that is training or products and services to sell. First of all, what is a list? A list is nothing more than contact information including names, email addresses and sometimes phone numbers of people who are interested in what you have to offer. So how do you get people to give you their contact information? By offering them something that is valuable to THEM. Something that they feel is worth exchanging their email address for. In order to be successful at list building you must know who your audience is, and you must understand what their struggles are, and offer them a solution to their problems. For instance, if your audience is work-at-home moms, then you need to know what they struggle with. Perhaps it's time management, or finding legitimate work-at-home jobs or opportunities. Maybe it's finding solutions to preparing nutritious meals for their families. Whatever problem you decide to hone in on, make sure you offer them the solution. A stressed out mom who works from home with a couple of kids running around who comes across your content offering her free valuable solutions to her problems, will be more than willing to give you her email address in exchange for your knowledge. If you present yourself and your content in a way that she can identify with; a working mother, she will connect to you more than she would someone in a business suit with their arms crossed. It is critical to know who you are speaking to in order to build a list. But more importantly, you want to build a responsive list. Therefore, you want to hang out in places where these moms frequent, whether that is online or offline. Your list comes into play with your Empower Network business very smoothly, because now as you blog about the issues that work-at-home moms face, and offer valuable resources and solutions, now you can send your blog posts directly to the moms who are interested in what you are talking about. So your list is your ready-made customers. Once you have a list, whether it is just a couple of people or hundreds, you now have an audience whom you can talk to and share information, as well as sell your products and services to. It becomes an on-going relationship, not just a hit and run. So your list building only serves to enhance and grow your Empower Network business. Just think about who you want to talk to, and what you want to talk about. Keep in mind first and foremost, what your audience struggles with, and offer them the solution. If you do this, then your list will stay with you for a long time to come, and your bank account will thank you for it. Jolly How To Survive Your First Child’s Graduation :: Confessions of a Proud Mama September 8th, 2013 Asia's Composite Picture How To Survive Your 1st Child’s Graduation :: Confessions of a Proud Mama Last weekend was amazing and a beginning of a new chapter for my beautiful daughter Asia Janeice Jolly... Even though I titled this post How To Survive...I did not do this very well. Epic fail... I cried so much, I did not know that I had that many tears...and probably put the Kleenex company out of business. The morning of graduation here is the first conversation we had as a family including my 16 year old son, Justin... Justin: (Asia's younger brother): I am going to miss you so very much Asia: Awww...I am going to cry...I can't take this right now Me: (Crying) It was only 6:54 am....and my eyes were hurting from crying...lol My note and banner that I designed to post on Asia's wall on her special day!...
  5. 5. September 8th, 2013 Published by: adrianejolly 5 This has been an incredible journey my dear! Last night at the Senior Slide Show they had reflections from the staff to the students. Here is my reflection to you.Asia Janeice you are one of my two biggest accomplishments in my life. My second would be your brother. You were the first and now you are going to be the first to leave. There have been so many amazing memories from the time that I held you in my arms for the first time, and so many memories to come after you begin this new chapter in your life...We love you so very much and I am so very excited to share this moment with you. Congratulations!!! Just when I thought I had pulled myself together...Guess what I find, a note from my mother to my daughter...here we go again...yes, you guessed it...I started crying again. Asia, even though your Mom provided a nutritious and safe environment the first nine months of your development I was the first to see you emerge into this big world.,to hear you take the first gasp of air, to hear the first spank that made you ball! It was definite over I was "whipped"...love had no boundaries. You have always been and forever will be that little brown bundle of joy I refer to as my favorite, one and only grand-daughter and the eldest of the greatest grandchildren this side of heaven. I am so so proud of your accomplishments you have set the bar very high. Your brother is as focused on achieving as you are, he looks up to you and uses your leadership as a measuring tool. Enjoy your day, you graduate from high school once in your lifetime. You my dear have one week to relish the high . Summer school begins June 2nd . Jolly We arrive at the school for gradation breakfast and yes...I look kinda crazy from all of the crying... The Senior Baccalaureate Mass was beautiful...and again I cried... The official class photo on the steps of SCA Fast forward...six hours later...after a nap. All of that crying takes a lot out of you. The big moment has arrived...The Graduation!!! Now here's the thing, I taped her big moment...but I will never get a job as a videographer...lol. Asia is parliamentarian of the senior class. Asia was also a competitor on the Science Olympiad Team. She will attend Howard University, in Washington, D.C., planning to major in economics with a minor in psychology. Here are Asia's accomplishments... so so very proud! I made it through...just barely but we are so very proud...and trust me all of those tears are from pure joy.
  6. 6. September 8th, 2013 Published by: adrianejolly 6 I am ending this post and this moment...with the first note I sent Asia at the beginning of the whirl wind of a week called graduation week... (((Proud Mama))) This is going to be a very emotional week... As I watch my baby walk across the stage on Friday as a high school graduate...I am sure that I am going to have flashbacks on all of those special moments that we have shared throughout the years. No one can understand how hard it is to watch your baby go out into the world until you experience it first hand...but my world has been so awesome having you in it Ms. Asia Janeice. I am already in tears...and it is just Monday..lol. I can hear her in her famous Asia voice..."Mom you need to pull yourself together people graduate everyday"...lol.Asia, this is an awesome accomplishment. I am so very proud of you. Mama loves you so very much! I can't not wait to see all of the awesome things that you are going to accomplish... Go get em'!Watch out world here comes Asia! Love you forever!!!
