  1. 1. Acts 18:24-25 Meanwhile a Jew named Apollos, a native of Alexandria, came to Ephesus. He was a learned man, with a thorough knowledge of the Scriptures. He had been instructed in the way of the Lord, and he spoke with great fervor and taught about Jesus accurately, though he only knew the baptism of John.
  2. 2. Acts 18:26 He began to speak boldly in the synagogue. When Priscilla and Aquila heard him, they invited him to their home and explained to him the way of God more adequately.
  3. 3. Acts 18:27-28 When Apollos wanted to go to Achaia, the brothers encouraged him and wrote to the disciples there to welcome him. On arriving, he was a great help to those who by grace had believed. For he vigorously refuted the Jews in public debate, proving from the Scriptures that Jesus was the Christ.
  4. 4. Too many have hidden behind lack of understanding as an EXCUSE not to study rather than MOTIVATION… Personal study and learning from others should be happening SIMALTANEOUSLY. Apollos knew his STUFF; however, that didn’t mean that there wasn’t more STUFF to know.
  5. 5. …PERSONAL study combined with LEARNING from others propels us forward in understanding Discipleship is nothing more than finding someone who is a STEP or TWO ahead of you and being willing to learn from them. Our GROWTH is not simply for OURSELVES
  6. 6. The goal is not simply KNOWING more but APPLYING better to life… Learning is moving beyond, ‘well, this is what I THINK, or how I FEEL, or my OPINION on the matter, to this is what God has SAID about it. You do not need to understand EVERYTHING to comprehend SOMETHING to build up your foundation.
