  2. 4. Quick Reference Index <ul><li>1 page index. </li></ul><ul><li>Subjects are in alphabetical order. </li></ul><ul><li>Subjects are more specific. </li></ul><ul><li>“ Sports Quick Reference Index” at the bottom. </li></ul>
  3. 5. General Index <ul><li>Multipage index. </li></ul><ul><li>Subjects are in alphabetical order. </li></ul><ul><li>Subjects are very specific. </li></ul><ul><li>Many subjects have subheadings. </li></ul>
  4. 6. Let’s practice using the almanac to find information.
  5. 7. <ul><li>Directions for activity: </li></ul><ul><li>You and your partner will receive a question card. </li></ul><ul><li>Read the question and determine the key word or words. </li></ul><ul><li>If you need help understanding the question raise your hand. Do not get out of your seat. </li></ul><ul><li>When you have written what you feel is the correct answer on your answer sheet one of you brings your answer sheet and the question card to Mrs. Wright or Mrs. Crocker. If the answer is correct we will take your completed question card and give you a new one. If it is incorrect we will send you back to your seat to try again. </li></ul><ul><li>Talk only to your own partner. </li></ul>
  6. 8. The answers to these questions are not going to reach up and slap you in the face! You must read carefully. “Two heads are better than one.” So work together! If you need help raise your hand and we will come to you and your partner and try to help by giving you hints or clues that may help you determine what you need to do to locate the correct answer. We will not find the answer for you! READ! READ!READ!
