Treasures in heaven

  1. 1. Executive Chapter, Enugu
  4. 4. WHAT ARE TREASURES?  Wealth or riches stored or accumulated, especially in the form of precious metals, money, jewels, or plate.  Wealth, rich materials, or valuable things.  Anything or person greatly valued or highly prized.  To retain carefully or keep in store, as in the mind.  To regard or treat as precious; cherish.  To put away for security or future use, as money.
  5. 5. WHAT IS HEAVEN?  The abode of God, the Angels, and the Spirits of the righteous after death; the place or state of existence of the blessed after the mortal life.  The celestial powers.  A metonym for God  The sky, firmament, or expanse of space surrounding the earth.  A place or state of supreme happiness. Blissful experience.  A spiritual state of everlasting communion with God
  6. 6. Spiritual meaning of Heaven:  The place of the everlasting blessedness of the righteous: ~Matt. 8:11; Luke 23:43; John 14:2; Heb. 11:16; Heb. 12:22; James 2:5; 2 Pet. 1:11; Rev 21:18-27.
  7. 7. WHY TREASURES?  Steep your life in God-reality, God- initiative, God-provisions. Don't worry about missing out. You'll find all your everyday human concerns will be met. ~ Matt 6:33  We work to feed our appetites; Meanwhile our souls go hungry. ~ Eccl 6:7
  8. 8. WHY TREASURES?  Don't waste your energy striving for perishable food like that.Work for the food that sticks with you, food that nourishes your lasting life, food the Son of Man provides. He and what he does are guaranteed by God the Father to last. ~ John 6:27
  9. 9. WHERE ARE OUR TREASURES?  "Don't let this throw you.You trust God, don't you?Trust me.There is plenty of room for you in my Father's home. If that weren't so, would I have told you that I'm on my way to get a room ready for you? And if I'm on my way to get your room ready, I'll come back and get you so you can live where I live. And you already know the road I'm taking." ~John 14:1-4
  10. 10. WHERE ARE OUR TREASURES?  Don't hoard treasure down here where it gets eaten by moths and corroded by rust or — worse! — stolen by burglars. Stockpile treasure in heaven, where it's safe from moth and rust and burglars. It's obvious, isn't it?The place where your treasure is, is the place you will most want to be, and end up being. ~Matt 6:19-21
  11. 11. WHEN DO WE STOCK TREASURES?  We need to be energetically at work for the One who sent me here, working while the sun shines. When night falls, the workday is over. ~ John 9:4
  12. 12. WHEN DO WE STOCK TREASURES?  "Just then God showed up and said, 'Fool!Tonight you die. And your barnful of goods — who gets it?'That's what happens when you fill your barn with Self and not with God." ~ Luke 12:20-21
  13. 13. HOW DO WE STOCK TREASURES IN HEAVEN?  So here's what I want you to do, God helping you:Take your everyday, ordinary life — your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life — and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. ~ Rom 12:1-2
  14. 14. HOW DO WE STOCK TREASURES IN HEAVEN?  You're familiar with some of the parts that God has formed in his church, which is his "body": Apostles, Prophets,Teachers, Miracle workers, Healers, Helpers, Organizers and those who pray in tongues. ~1 Cor 12:28

  16. 16. HOW DO WE STOCK TREASURES IN HEAVEN?  "If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me." ~Math 19:21
  17. 17. REWARD FOR TREASURES IN HEAVEN  Take particular care in picking out your building materials. Eventually there is going to be an inspection. If you use cheap or inferior materials, you'll be found out.The inspection will be thorough and rigorous. You won't get by with a thing. If your work passes inspection, fine; if it doesn't, your part of the building will be torn out and started over. But you won't be torn out; you'll survive — but just barely. ~1 Cor 3:12-15
  18. 18. REWARD FOR TREASURES IN HEAVEN  Don't quit, even if it costs you your life. Stay there believing. I have a Life-Crown sized and ready for you. ~ Rev 2:10  Yes, I'm on my way! I'll be there soon! I'm bringing my payroll with me. I'll pay all people in full for their life's work. I'm A to Z, the First and the Final, Beginning and Conclusion. ~ Rev 22:12-13
