CAD DRAWINGS  The further growth in our project is in the field of designing the  basic structure of our product. These drawings define the location  of the solar panels to be attached, different mountings and battery  location. All these drawings are drawn using Auto Cad 2007(AutoCAD is  a CAD software  application  for  2D  and  3D  design  and  drafting,  developed and sold by Autodesk, Inc.)   10. 10. Analysis After the completion of the CAD Drawings further step is to analyze the use of different components such as the “Battery” to be used (its rating), “Solar-Panels” (Number and type), “Motor” (Type and power).
  11. 11. Battery: Batteries used in our bicycle is lead acid type because they have good life, requires less maintenance and have high efficiency. Rating of Batteries :- 12 V 10 AH

Motor: It is based on the principle that when a current-carrying conductor is placed in a magnetic field, it experiences a mechanical force whose direction is given by Fleming's Left-hand rule and whose magnitude is given by  Force, F = B I l newton Where B - magnetic field in weber/m2 , I - current in amperes, l - length of the coil in meter. The force, current and the magnetic field are all in different directions.
  13. 13. PERMANENT MAGNET DC MOTOR (PMDC): Due to starting torque and less field losses PMDC is preferred over other DC motors. Specification of motor – 400 W 24 V motor

SOLAR PANELS: The solar cell works in three steps: Photons in sunlight hit the solar panel and are absorbed by semiconducting materials, such as silicon. Electrons (negatively charged) are knocked loose from their atoms, causing an electric potential difference. Current starts flowing through the material to cancel the potential and this electricity is captured. Due to the special composition of solar cells, the electrons are only allowed to move in a single direction. An array of solar cells converts solar energy into a usable amount of direct current (DC) electricity.
  15. 15. Formula for calculating efficiency of a solar cell? Efficiency = energy out as electricity / energy in as light Example-At full sun, there is approximately 1000W/m2 Now, if the Wattage is 3.86 W , then the efficiency would be 3.86 divided by 0.24336, = 15.86%
