Today,Pakistan is faced with several challenges; electricity crisis being a primary concern. More than 18 hours outage.
The causes of acute shortage of electricity in Pakistan are: Lack of Energy Conservation Program Circular dept Shortage in river waters Fewer dams Power theft Cost of Fuel Incomplete projects
Electricitycrises badly effect education Great effect on industries Effect on economy Effect on agriculture Unemployment increased
First of all government should remove corruption, inefficiency and mismanagement from WAPDA The government should build up a stringent framework to purchase cheap electricity from China and Iran. KESC, LESCO and PEPCO’s performance should be regularly monitored by the government to eliminate any loopholes in its effective functioning. Power should be generated from solar energy, nuclear energy, wind turbines and water turbines.
Pakistan has the resources to meet its growing energy requirements. The challenge lies in making these options commercially, economically and politically feasible.
