  2. 2. PresentationPresentation is the practice of showing and explaining the content of atopic to an audience or learnerPresentations come in nearly as many forms as there are life situations. Inthe business world, There are sales presentations, informational and motivationalpresentations, first encounters, interviews, briefings, status reports, image-building, and of course, the inevitable training sessions.

Audience There are far more types of audiences than there are types of presentations because audiences are made up of people and people come in innumerable flavors. Individuals could be invited to speak to groups all across the country. What the individual says and how they may say it depends on the makeup of those groups. Audiences can be classified into four basic categories: Captives Pragmatists Socially motivated Committed

Visual aidsA study done by Wharton School Of Business showed that the use of visualsreduced meeting times by 28 percent.Another study found that audiences believe presenters who use visuals aremore professional and credible than presenters who merely speak.And still other research indicates that meetings and presentations reinforcedwith visuals help participants reach decisions and consensus in less time.
  7. 7. How to face a seminar?1)Memorizing - this is absolutely the worst way to keep track of material.2). Reading from complete text - Listening to someone read a speech orpresentation is hated by most people.3)Using Notes - This is the most common way for remembering material.Using notes is better than reading since the speaker can have normal voiceinflection and make more effective eye contact. If your notes are on thelectern, you probably wont move very far from them.4).Using Visual Aids As Notes - Simple visual aids can effectively serve asheadings and subheadings. Speak to the heading. Say what you want to say and move on. If you forgetsomething, thats okay; the audience will never know unless you tell them.
