1. KODALINE : HIGH HOPES
Filming and editing process.

2. FILMING:
For the overall filming of the music video, I
filmed and edited the project. Last year I
didn't film or edit the thriller or any
preliminary pieces of work so this was a
completely new thing for me to
comprehend and get to grips with. I did
have some experience with cameras, being
the ‘tech expert’ in my family but I had no
editing experience at all prior to the music
video. Overall, I found the filming process
quite fun and easy, yet there were still
aspects I found hard such as taking several
hand held shots due to having a limited
amount of tripods available. However, I
think I adapted quite well to this and some
of the shots came out better than I
anticipated.
3. FILMING:
(CONTINUED)
I filmed the majority of the video in school
with the exception of the scenes in the
woods. All of Tia and Scott’s scenes were
shot in school as the location was more
practical for us to get to and also gave me
the flexibility of getting easier access to
cameras. By primarily filming in school I
was able to get any reshoots done in my
free periods which i found to be extremely
beneficial. In addition to this, I was able to
develop my camera skills. Prior to this
project, I mainly used my own Nikon
Bridge camera so DSLR’s were alien to
me. Filming the music video has given me
a greater range of camera knowledge.
4. USING FINAL CUT PRO X
Before I began the music video editing process, I
had no editing experience what so ever. I had
briefly attempted to use Adobe Premier Pro on the
computers in school’s media suite, however when
I then had a go at using Final Cut Pro X on my
Macbook, I found the software much easier to
navigate and get my head around so I made the
decision to edit the whole video using that. I found
that even with next to no editing experience, I was
able to grasp Final Cut fairly quickly (after
watching quite a few tutorials on YouTube) and
the editing process soon became much more
enjoyable once I figured out how to use the
software.
