This stage was the first bit of research we carried outand conducted. We did 2 questionnaires and chose toget a good range of ages for the first and then usingthe information from that one we would select oursecond questionnaire participators by the targetaudience ages. We found that with the mixed ageone, older people struggled to tell us much as theyhad never illegally downloaded, the only thing theycould say was that there children do it. This meantthat with the second set of question’s we were goingto aim it at younger people so that we could getstronger feedback from people who actuallyparticipate in the subject matter of the documentary.
In the questionaires weasked about what people liketo see in documentarys i.e.narration, title sequences, flyon the wall etc..! We alsoasked about there personalinvolvement within “illegaldownloading” so we couldalso use this information inour documentary. Here is agraph from the question “ doyou enjoy watchingdocumentary,s?”
We did this after wehad created ourdocumentary andancillary texts to seewhat people thoughtof the combination ofall three and weatheras a set they workedwell togeteher.Hereare the graphs toshow the results.
As you can see the feedback was all positive andnearly 100% of people we asked would continuewatching are documentary after watching thefirst 5 minuets. We also asked weather areproducts combined well and again the feedbackfrom this was very positive, with only a fewcomments with suggested improvements such as“bigger font” which we as a team had decided wewanted to keep smaller due to the amount ofinformation we could fit on the double pagespread. But overall we were extremely happy withthe feedback we recived.
