1. Looking back at your preliminary
task, what do you feel you have
learnt in the progression from it to
the full product?
2. The main thing I have learned from my preliminary task after progressing to my
main task was mostly about photo manipulation and conventions of real
magazines. In my preliminary task, I used extremely basic photo manipulation
which did not look very professional, whereas in my real product I was able to
use Photoshop to a better standard and do more things with it that I wasn’t able
to before. As well as this, I had the time to look at more of the tools and look
into tutorials about how to use them effectively. To develop my point further, in
the full product I carried out a lot more research into magazines with
covers, contents and double page spreads. From this, I was able to grasp what
spacings I should use, as well as picking up many conventions from the
magazines I chosen to study.
3. Looking back, another thing I was able to develop from my preliminary task was
the colour and contrast of text on its background. Furthermore, the position of
the barcode was important and looking back to my product from my
preliminary, the magazine cover was very plain and boring with not a lot going
on. On the contents page I was also able to make further improvements, such
as making the page look more professional as well as it being for a completely
different topic.
