  4. 4.  Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) reports.  SOA services using Java, spring-core, spring-ws, spring-integration. Other SOA technologies tested: OpenESB, Mule, Apache Servicemix. Aug 08 – Mar 09 [Zurich (CSC)] Java / .NET / Actuate / JasperReports Developer At Zurich (as the only Java developer on the project) I was responsible for designing and developing PDF outputs (Quotations / Policy Schedules / Cover Letters) for a high profile project. I have achieved the following:  Design and developed proof-of-concept multi-threaded PDF output engines in:  C#, ASP.NET Web Services, Microsoft SQL Server, TSQL, iText.NET  Java, Spring, AXIS, Tomcat, Eclipse, iText, XSD, JAXB.  Java, Spring, AXIS, Tomcat, Eclipse, BIRT.  Java, Spring, AXIS, Tomcat, Eclipse, OpenOffice, XSLT.  Designed, developed and productionised a JasperReports PDF output engine and output templates for Quotes, Policies and Cover Letters. The engine accepts output run requests via. web services, and stores the request state in a RDBMS. The reports are run off-line (I.e. asynchronously) to allow throttling of run requests to prevent server over-loading. Technologies: Java 1.6, Spring Core, Spring MVC, Spring Security, Servlets, JSP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX, AXIS, Hibernate, Derby, MSSQL, T-SQL Ant, JUnit, JDBC Mock Objects, Tomcat, Eclipse, JasperReports, iReport, VB.NET Web Service client, Visual Source Safe. Using these technologies, I have saved Zurich over £150K of licensing and support fees that they would have incurred if they had used Actuate iServer for their outputs as they had originally planned.  Modified and improved Actuate erdPro reports for a different Zurich system. Jun 08 – Aug 08|[TnT] Technical Architect At TnT, I was responsible for the technical architecture of TnT's core customer application. I have cycled from Sydney to Melbourne (Australia - about 700 miles). Exhilaration I have undergone advanced SCUBA diving training, and since then I have been on shark feeding dives and night dives in shark-infested waters. Self-development: I read one technical (IT) book about every fortnight. I enjoy teaching others. Page 6 of 6
