Economic Effect <ul><li>The economic recession the started in the late 1920’s and worsened into a depression by 1933 hit every nation of the world. </li></ul><ul><li>Many western democracies like the US turned into welfare nations of government handouts. Other governments took total control with military regimes destroying democracy. </li></ul><ul><li>When a huge link like the US economy crashes as in October 29, 1929 all the world economies fell like dominos. </li></ul>

Political Powers <ul><li>Confident and charismatic leaders like FDR and Adolf Hitler gained support from those desperate and living in poverty caused by the global depression. </li></ul><ul><li>Neither politician had an economic program for recovery and used their lack of economic knowledge to “e x periment” with unproven programs. </li></ul><ul><li>The New Deal and the Nazi economic policies are similarly compared with their government work programs, youth camps, deficit spending, farm subsidies, social security, and anti-business propaganda. </li></ul>
