professionals working within the group.
There are several reasons why you should use the services of an accredited Certification Body; here are
some of the most important:
Minimize risk – many institutes and government bodies insist that their suppliers are certified by
Accredited Certification Bodies; many tenders have been lost where it has been established that the ISO
certification was un-accredited.
Save money – by using an accredited Certification Body you are buying into appropriate knowledge and
technical expertise, which understand your business and can perform certification audits effectively,
identifying valuable opportunities for improvement.
Enhanced reputation – Accredited certification sends a strong message that you are serious about the
markets you operate in and that you will not compromise your company‟s integrity when it comes to
certification.
International recognition – Through the International acceptance of the IAF MLA, overseas markets will
more readily accept your company.
So whether you are a small local operation or a major multi-national operating globally, AJA Registrars is
able to tailor its services and approach specifically to meet your needs. It is our mission to provide

ISO 9001 is internationally recognized as providing a framework for a quality management system that
can be easily interpreted for all areas of industry and commerce. ISO 9001 provides a framework for
monitoring and measuring process performance and operations ensuring increased efficiency and
improved customer satisfaction. Now demanded by many „Blue-Chip„ companies and Government
Departments, ISO 9001 certification provides these organizations and your existing customers with
confidence that you should be able to provide a consistent and improving quality product or service.
ISO 14001 identifies requirements for an environmental management system. It maps out a framework
that an organization can follow to identify impacts on the environment, define controls to prevent and
reduce pollution and ensure compliance to legal requirements. Operating an ISO 14001 management
system can result in reduced waste and energy use, improve efficiency and provide a means of identifying
and evaluating compliance against environmental regulatory requirement and it also demonstrates a
commitment to reducing your impact on the environment. More and more companies and institutions are
demanding that their suppliers and stakeholders are committed to improving their environmental
performance; Accredited ISO 14001 certification is the first step towards being able to demonstrate this.
OHSAS 18001 is an international standard giving requirements related to Health and Safety Management
Systems. It exists to help organizations put in place demonstrably sound occupational health and safety
performance. It is widely seen as the world‟s most recognized occupational health and safety management
systems standard. OHSAS 18001 enables an organization to have control over, and knowledge of, all
relevant hazards resulting from normal operations and abnormal situations, and improve its performance.
Having the right systems in place can help reduce accidents and the costs associated with these accidents
through injury or illness. Becoming OHSAS 18001 certified you will be demonstrating your commitment to
safety in the workplace, whether it is to clients, shareholders or your staff. By putting in new systems you
will be also reducing injury to key members of your staff. It will also help you become compliant with the
latest health and safety information. OHSAS 18001 also provides our clients with the ability to promote
their image or brand.
ISO 22000 (FSMS) is a generic food safety management standard that includes a set of food safety
requirements, it can be used by any organization directly or indirectly involved in the food chain. It applies
to all organizations and can help ensure the safety of our client‟s food products. The objective of the
system in place is to ensure that these food products do not cause adverse human health effects.
Consistently ensures customer‟s food safety requirements. Providing safe products and ultimately
enhancing customer satisfaction. Improve supplier relationships. Enable our clients to continually improve
including the export of food products and penetrate international markets. Improve communication with
your customers. Improve supplier relationships.
ISO 27001 provides safeguards and controls to ensure that the integrity, confidentiality and availability of
information are preserved. It provides the foundation for an Information Security Management System
(ISMS) and applies to all sizes of organization in all business sectors. Failure to protect client information
can mean a loss of business, reputation and can result in costly litigation. More and more governments
and institutes who require their intellectual property and their customer‟s information to be secured are
insisting on ISO 27001 certification. ISO 27001 ISMS certification allows your organization to demonstrate
to customers, suppliers and governmental organizations that you are dedicated to securing information.
ISO 13485 is now the Management System that forms the foundation of regulatory compliance in
countries around the world and is the only internationally recognized standard focused solely on Medical
Devices. ISO 13495 provides a framework for monitoring and measuring process performance and
operations related to the design, manufacture and distribution of Medical Devices ensuring increased
efficiency and improved customer satisfaction. It also ensures that you focus on the specific regulatory
requirements associated with Medical Devices to support conformance with National Medical Device
Directives. Your customers can buy you Medical Devices and services in the knowledge that they comply
with the regulatory requirements.
ISO 14051 relies on is called Material Flow Cost Accounting (MFCA). Despite its apparent “double”
usefulness – never has it been more obvious how ecologic and economic benefits go hand in hand – the
new norm has not yet caught up with the popularity of its brothers and sisters. In an attempt to help in
paving the way to an increased number of ISO 14051 certified companies, those willing to both reduce
their financial costs and their environmental burden, let me explain in simple terms how the 14051
procedure works.
ISO 26000 provides guidance on how businesses and organizations can operate in a socially responsible
way. This means acting in an ethical and transparent way that contributes to the health and welfare of
society. The perception and reality of an organization‟s performance on social responsibility can influence,
among other things:
 Competitive advantage
 Reputation
 Ability to attract and retain workers or members, customers, clients or users
 Maintenance of employees‟ morale, commitment and productivity
 View of investors, owners, donors, sponsors and the financial community
 Relationship with companies, governments, the media, suppliers, peers, customers and the
community in which it operates.
Using energy efficiently helps organizations save money as well as helping to conserve resources and
tackle climate change. ISO 50001 supports organizations in all sectors to use energy more efficiently,
through the development of an energy management system (EnMS).
ISO 50001 is based on the management system model of continual improvement also used for other well-
known standards such as ISO 9001 or ISO 14001. This makes it easier for organizations to integrate
energy management into their overall efforts to improve quality and environmental management.
ISO 50001 provides a framework of requirements for organizations to:
 Develop a policy for more efficient use of energy
 Fix targets and objectives to meet the policy
 Use data to better understand and make decisions about energy use
 Measure the results
 Review how well the policy works, and
 Continually improve energy management.
SEDEX is not for profit membership organization dedicated to driving improvements in ethical and
responsible business practices in global supply chains. SEDEX ease the burden on suppliers facing multiple
audits, questionnaires and certifications and it improves the ethical performance of global supply chains.
SEDEX also maintain four core of conduct. These are…
 Labour Standards
 Health & Safety
 The Environment
 Business Ethics
Textile Exchange is a strong supporter of GOTS, and we encourage all companies to strive to have their
products meet this important standard. The Global Organic Textile Standard is a comprehensive standard
that allows companies to ensure that their organic fiber products are produced to very strict criteria
relating to quality, tracking, and social and environmental considerations.
The OE standards are chain-of-custody standards that give third party verification to a final product
containing a given amount of organically grown cotton. The OE 100 and OE Blended are voluntary
standards and do not address the use of chemicals or any other aspects of production beyond the integrity
of the organic fiber.
EMAS easy is a new approach based on Eco-mapping. It was developed to help SME's to process an
environmental management system (EMS) grounded on their baseline assessment.
The challenge of EMAS easy was to adapt the proven concepts of Eco-mapping into a certifiable EMAS and
ISO 14001 without losing the simplicity. The EMS process still had to be adult learning oriented and needs
to cluster several small companies because all have to share the easy and simple documentation system.
EMAS easy is a way to implement EMAS which is proportional to the size, financial capacity and
organizational culture of small business. It assists, using a number of new features, with compliance with
ISO 14001 and EMAS but still focusing on what matters – environmental protection on the shop floor.
HACCP is a management system in which food safety is addressed through the analysis and control of
biological, chemical, and physical hazards from raw material production, procurement and handling, to
manufacturing, distribution and consumption of the finished product.
HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point) is a system that helps food business operators look at
how they handle food and introduces procedures to make sure the food produced is safe to eat.
As part of routine inspections, the enforcement officer will check that the business has an appropriate
HACCP-based food safety management system in place.
The BSCI Code of Conduct is based on the most important international Conventions protecting the
workers‟ rights such as the International Labor Organization (ILO) Conventions and other important
Declarations of the United Nations, the OECD guidelines for multinational enterprises and the UN Global
Compact.
The BSCI Code includes the ten following key elements to improve the worker´s situation:
 freedom of association and the right to collective bargaining are respected
 no discrimination is practiced
 child labor is prohibited
 legal minimum and/or industry standards wages are paid
 working hours are compliant with national laws and do not exceed 48 hours regular + 12 hours
overtime
 there is no forced labor and disciplinary measures
 the workplace is safe and healthy
 the environment is respected
 there is a policy for social accountability
 there is an anti-bribery and anti-corruption policy
The members are requested to adopt and disseminate the BSCI Code of Conduct both internally and in
their supply chain to inform employees and suppliers about the company‟s dedication to social compliance
and the BSCI development approach. This step ensures that all parties in the company and its supply
chain are informed about their responsibility in the process. In case of doing so BSCI Members express
their wish to do business with suppliers who take social responsibility seriously.
We may visit your premises and undertake a fire safety audit which is usually prearranged and all fire
safety inspectors will be in uniform and carry identification.
The audit is an examination of the premises and relevant documents to ascertain how the premises are
being managed regarding fire safety. The inspector may also wish to talk to members of staff to confirm
their level of fire safety awareness.
The emphasis is on the responsible person demonstrating they have met the duties required by the fire
safety order. For this reason we may ask to see the following documents as evidence.
 A suitable and sufficient fire risk assessment by a competent person
 Action plans related to any significant findings of the fire risk assessment
 Emergency plans for the premises (what to do in the event of a fire)
 Preventative and protective measures regarding fire
 Fire drills and staff fire training records (who, when, & what training)
 Fire safety maintenance checklist (what is checked, by who, and when)
 Staff information on fire safety and dangerous substances.
 Evidence that the following have been tested by a competent person:- Fire detection and warning
system; Emergency lighting; Sprinkler System; Ventilation System; Firefighting equipment;
Electrical wiring in the building; Portable appliance testing.
The above list is not exhaustive and other evidence may be required depending on the circumstances.
The proper implementation of a chemical management system should enable the safe management of
chemicals, while maintaining the benefits for society associated with the use of chemical products and
ensuring a competitive industry.
The benefit of a chemical management systems are:
1. Assure that public health and the environment are protected from unreasonable risk resulting from
exposure to chemicals through the application of appropriate risk management measures.
2. Assure that the risks of chemical manufacture, distribution, use, disposal and recycle are
adequately characterized and managed.
3. Apply appropriate chemical control management systems that meet the needs for health and
environmental protection while sustaining a global competitive chemical industry.
4. Increase public confidence about the safety of chemicals.
5. Provide timely responses to public concerns about chemical risks.
Human Resource Management (HRM) is the function within an organization that focuses on recruitment of,
management of, and providing direction for the people who work in the organization. HRM can also be
performed by line managers.
HRM is the organizational function that deals with issues related to people work under that organization.
Such as compensation, hiring, performance management, organization development, safety, wellness,
benefits, employee motivation, communication, administration, and training.
HRM is also a strategic and comprehensive approach to managing people and the workplace culture and
environment. Effective HRM enables employees to contribute effectively and productively to the overall
company direction and the accomplishment of the organization's goals and objectives.
HRM is moving away from traditional personnel, administration, and transactional roles, which are
increasingly outsourced. HRM is now expected to add value to the strategic utilization of employees and
that employee programs impact the business in measurable ways. The new role of HRM involves strategic
direction and HRM metrics and measurements to demonstrate value.
A GMP is a system for ensuring that products are consistently produced and controlled according to quality
standards. It is designed to minimize the risks involved in any pharmaceutical production that cannot be
eliminated through testing the final product.
GMP covers all aspects of production starts from the materials, premises and equipment to the training
and personal hygiene of staffs. Detailed, written procedures are essential for each process that could
affect the quality of the finished product. There must be systems to provide documented proof that correct
procedures are consistently followed at each step in the manufacturing process - every time a product is
made.
Inventory management is the process of efficiently overseeing the constant flow of units into and out of an
existing inventory. This process usually involves controlling the transfer in of units in order to prevent the
inventory from becoming too high, or dwindling to levels that could put the operation of the company into
jeopardy. Competent inventory management also seeks to control the costs associated with the inventory,
both from the perspective of the total value of the goods included and the tax burden generated by the
cumulative value of the inventory.
Inventory management is not limited to documenting the delivery of raw materials and the movement of
those materials into operational process. The movement of those materials as they go through the various
stages of the operation is also important. Finally, inventory management has to do with keeping accurate
records of finished goods that are ready for shipment. This often means posting the production of newly
completed goods to the inventory totals as well as subtracting the most recent shipments of finished
goods to buyers. Accurately maintaining figures on the finished goods inventory makes it possible to
quickly convey information to sales personnel as to what is available and ready for shipment at any given
time.
In addition to maintaining control of the volume and movement of various inventories, inventory
management also makes it possible to prepare accurate records that are used for accessing any taxes due
on each inventory type.
The Electrical Safety Office audits businesses and individuals across industry to ensure businesses are
operating in an electrically safe way and are meeting their obligations. The Main Objectives of ESMS is to
ensure that systems which promote safe work practices for all electrical workers working on or in the
vicinity of electricity are established. To ensure that work conducted on or around electrical conductors or
equipment is only carried out by suitable trained and qualified personnel. Last but Not Least, Local
Legislations and Regulations to be fully explained before commencing the activity.
There are some responsibilities of ESMS for business owners, managers and supervisors. They have to
ensure that site specific risk assessments as required are carried out on the prescribed form. Records of
the assessment shall be kept and placed on record, the requirements of the appropriate Legislation and
Standards in your country, state or county are complied with and suitably qualified personnel perform all
recording and reporting functions. They have to focus on Contractors and/or Sub Contractors conducting
work activities for or on your behalf comply with all Safe Work Practices and Procedures or have a safety
system in place that meets or exceeds the requirements of your country, state or country. Finally,
ensuring that only trained, qualified and competent people carry out work on electrical systems.

  • 7. ISO 14051 relies on is called Material Flow Cost Accounting (MFCA). Despite its apparent “double” usefulness – never has it been more obvious how ecologic and economic benefits go hand in hand – the new norm has not yet caught up with the popularity of its brothers and sisters. In an attempt to help in paving the way to an increased number of ISO 14051 certified companies, those willing to both reduce their financial costs and their environmental burden, let me explain in simple terms how the 14051 procedure works. ISO 26000 provides guidance on how businesses and organizations can operate in a socially responsible way. This means acting in an ethical and transparent way that contributes to the health and welfare of society. The perception and reality of an organization‟s performance on social responsibility can influence, among other things:  Competitive advantage  Reputation  Ability to attract and retain workers or members, customers, clients or users  Maintenance of employees‟ morale, commitment and productivity  View of investors, owners, donors, sponsors and the financial community  Relationship with companies, governments, the media, suppliers, peers, customers and the community in which it operates. Using energy efficiently helps organizations save money as well as helping to conserve resources and tackle climate change. ISO 50001 supports organizations in all sectors to use energy more efficiently, through the development of an energy management system (EnMS).
  • 8. ISO 50001 is based on the management system model of continual improvement also used for other well- known standards such as ISO 9001 or ISO 14001. This makes it easier for organizations to integrate energy management into their overall efforts to improve quality and environmental management. ISO 50001 provides a framework of requirements for organizations to:  Develop a policy for more efficient use of energy  Fix targets and objectives to meet the policy  Use data to better understand and make decisions about energy use  Measure the results  Review how well the policy works, and  Continually improve energy management. SEDEX is not for profit membership organization dedicated to driving improvements in ethical and responsible business practices in global supply chains. • 9. The OE standards are chain-of-custody standards that give third party verification to a final product containing a given amount of organically grown cotton. The OE 100 and OE Blended are voluntary standards and do not address the use of chemicals or any other aspects of production beyond the integrity of the organic fiber. EMAS easy is a new approach based on Eco-mapping. It was developed to help SME's to process an environmental management system (EMS) grounded on their baseline assessment. The challenge of EMAS easy was to adapt the proven concepts of Eco-mapping into a certifiable EMAS and ISO 14001 without losing the simplicity. The EMS process still had to be adult learning oriented and needs to cluster several small companies because all have to share the easy and simple documentation system. EMAS easy is a way to implement EMAS which is proportional to the size, financial capacity and organizational culture of small business. It assists, using a number of new features, with compliance with ISO 14001 and EMAS but still focusing on what matters – environmental protection on the shop floor. HACCP is a management system in which food safety is addressed through the analysis and control of biological, chemical, and physical hazards from raw material production, procurement and handling, to manufacturing, distribution and consumption of the finished product. HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point) is a system that helps food business operators look at how they handle food and introduces procedures to make sure the food produced is safe to eat. As part of routine inspections, the enforcement officer will check that the business has an appropriate HACCP-based food safety management system in place.

We may visit your premises and undertake a fire safety audit which is usually prearranged and all fire safety inspectors will be in uniform and carry identification. The audit is an examination of the premises and relevant documents to ascertain how the premises are being managed regarding fire safety. The inspector may also wish to talk to members of staff to confirm their level of fire safety awareness. The emphasis is on the responsible person demonstrating they have met the duties required by the fire safety order. For this reason we may ask to see the following documents as evidence.  A suitable and sufficient fire risk assessment by a competent person
  • 11.  Action plans related to any significant findings of the fire risk assessment  Emergency plans for the premises (what to do in the event of a fire)  Preventative and protective measures regarding fire  Fire drills and staff fire training records (who, when, & what training)  Fire safety maintenance checklist (what is checked, by who, and when)  Staff information on fire safety and dangerous substances.  Evidence that the following have been tested by a competent person:- Fire detection and warning system; Emergency lighting; Sprinkler System; Ventilation System; Firefighting equipment; Electrical wiring in the building; Portable appliance testing. A GMP is a system for ensuring that products are consistently produced and controlled according to quality standards. It is designed to minimize the risks involved in any pharmaceutical production that cannot be eliminated through testing the final product. GMP covers all aspects of production starts from the materials, premises and equipment to the training and personal hygiene of staffs. Detailed, written procedures are essential for each process that could affect the quality of the finished product. There must be systems to provide documented proof that correct procedures are consistently followed at each step in the manufacturing process - every time a product is made. Inventory management is the process of efficiently overseeing the constant flow of units into and out of an existing inventory. This process usually involves controlling the transfer in of units in order to prevent the inventory from becoming too high, or dwindling to levels that could put the operation of the company into jeopardy. Competent inventory management also seeks to control the costs associated with the inventory, both from the perspective of the total value of the goods included and the tax burden generated by the cumulative value of the inventory. Inventory management is not limited to documenting the delivery of raw materials and the movement of those materials into operational process. The movement of those materials as they go through the various stages of the operation is also important. Finally, inventory management has to do with keeping accurate records of finished goods that are ready for shipment. This often means posting the production of newly completed goods to the inventory totals as well as subtracting the most recent shipments of finished goods to buyers. Accurately maintaining figures on the finished goods inventory makes it possible to quickly convey information to sales personnel as to what is available and ready for shipment at any given time. In addition to maintaining control of the volume and movement of various inventories, inventory management also makes it possible to prepare accurate records that are used for accessing any taxes due on each inventory type.
