 2007: KUZGUN LTD. was founded by a group of engineers
(more than 30 years of experience in aerospace industry) with a
foresight of :
“AIRSHIPS WILL BE ONE OF THE MAIN AIRVEHICLES IN NEAR
FUTURE”
UNMANNED AIRSHIPS, for Reconnaissance and Surveillance
missions.
 2015: KUZGUN LTD. was closed.
We continue our Airship projects as an entrepreneur even
though the company was closed.

 What is an AIRSHIP?
“An airship or dirigible
is a buoyant lighter-
than-air aircraft that can
be steered and propelled through the air.
The airship, unlike the airplane, leads to
great saving in fuel consumption.”

2. THE PRODUCT AND DEVELOPMENT
 The Airships are very efficient air platforms for
reconnaissance & surveillance in TURKEY and in the other
countries.
 Turkey and all countries need all kinds of unmanned
systems.
 Flying cost per hour of fixed and rotary wing type of air
vehicles are around US$ 20.000, however the LTA (airship)
costs per hour is approximately US$. 1.000.

Despite near-term U.S. budget cutbacks, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) continue
as the most dynamic growth sector of the world aerospace industry this decade,
report Teal analysts in their latest integrated market analysis.
Teal Group's 2014 market study estimates that UAV spending will nearly double over
the next decade from current worldwide UAV expenditures of $6.4 billion annually to
$11.5 billion, totaling almost $91 billion in the next ten years.

RETURN OF THE AIRSHIP
Aerostats emerged among the few winners of a five-year foray by the
Defense Department in lighter-than-air craft. Lighter-than-air flight
once seemed an antiquated concept, evoking zeppelins and hot-air balloons. But the
technology has indeed advanced.
With two wars underway and defense budgets at all-time highs, the military launched 15
aerostat and airship programs that cost nearly $7 billion between 2007 and 2012, according to
the GAO. Many of the programs, including giant unmanned spy blimps and ultra-high altitude
airships, have since been abandoned as impractical. But the PGSS and the larger PTDS —
Persistent Threat Detection System —have largely succeeded.“To date, aerostats have
provided approximately 750,000 hours of full-motion video in Afghanistan,” Parodi said.
Will aerostats last? The Pentagon thinks their use will grow.

 THERE ARE NOT ANY BUSINESS IN TURKEY WHO DEALS
WITH AIRSHIPS.
 KUZGUN IS THE ONLY BUSINESS IN THIS SECTOR.
 THE GOEGRAPHICAL REALITIES DO NOT LET
CONVENTIONAL UAVs (fixed wing & rotary wing) TO
PERFORM ITS DUTIES IN THIS AREAS (mountains which have
elevation of 3000-4000m ) .

7. KUZGUN AERO’s FUTURISTIC PROJECTS
KUZGUN_AEHA – ALL ELECTRICAL HYBRID AIR VEHICLE
Design of a Hybrid Air Vehicle with Solar Energy. Hybrid Air Vehicle gets around %70 or %80 of static lift
from lighter than air gases and the remaining power from the electrical motors (she will be a
combination of Airship and Aircraft ). The surface of the Hybrid Air Vehicle is big enough to place solar
cells on it.
The aim of the project is also to develop a composite geodesic structure.

Hybrid Air Vehicles is the manufacturer of the Airlander which combines the flight
characteristics of lighter-than-air and fixed-wing aircraft. This innovation brings new
and much-needed capabilities to the skies, such as ultra-endurance and the ability to
land anywhere. Aim to commercialise the Airlander and assemble up to 12 per
annum, in order to address a $50 billion estimated market.

KUZGUN AIRSHIP Projects
We are a group of engineers (entrepreneurs) from Turkey. Our projects are related with Unmanned
Airships for reconnaissance & surveillance purposes.
KUZGUN Limited was founded by a group of idealist engineers each of whom has more than
30 years of experience in aerospace industry in 2007 and closed in 2015 .
Their foresight was “AIRSHIPS WILL BE ONE OF THE MAIN AIRVEHICLES IN NEAR FUTURE.”
They have believed that Unmanned Airships will be very efficient air vehicle platform for
Reconnaissance & Surveillance purposes also.
KUZGUN Ltd.’s first project was “KUZGUN_ 1 UNMANNED AIRSHIP”. KUZGUN_1 has composite
framework structure. KUZGUN_1 can be classified as semi-rigid airship. In fact KUZGUN_1 is also a
modular airship (Patent was granted “TR 2011 03453 B” on April, 2011) , which makes it different
from the conventional ones.
“KUZGUN_1 UNMANNED AIRSHIP” project was sponsored by KOSGEB (Small and Medium
Industry Development Organization) and TUBITAK-TEYDEB (Technology and Innovation Funding
Programs Directorate) which are both governmental organizations.
KUZGUN Ltd.’s second project was “KUZGUN_A1 TETHERED AIRSHIP (AEROSTAT)”.
KUZGUN_1 UNMANNED AIRSHIP made its maiden flight on October 2008.
KUZGUN_1 UNMANNED AIRSHIP and KUZGUN_A1 TETHERED AIRSHIP (AEROSTAT) had
another flight test together on December 2009. This successful flight test was broadcast on TRT.

Lighter-than-air flight once seemed an antiquated concept, evoking zeppelins and hot-air balloons. But the technology has indeed advanced. With two wars underway and defense budgets at all-time highs, the military launched 15 aerostat and airship programs that cost nearly $7 billion between 2007 and 2012, according to the GAO. Many of the programs, including giant unmanned spy blimps and ultra-high altitude airships, have since been abandoned as impractical. But the PGSS and the larger PTDS — Persistent Threat Detection System —have largely succeeded.“To date, aerostats have provided approximately 750,000 hours of full-motion video in Afghanistan,” Parodi said. Hybrid Air Vehicle gets around %70 or %80 of static lift from lighter than air gases and the remaining power from the electrical motors (she will be a combination of Airship and Aircraft ). The surface of the Hybrid Air Vehicle is big enough to place solar cells on it. The aim of the project is also to develop a composite geodesic structure.
