News For Changemakers                                                                              March 2010  Venture Interview Golden Series: Running for A Opportunities Reason & TeenLit For Katie, Julia and their brother Sam, community service is a family thing. They received seed funds from Youth Venture in 2005 to launch Running for A 2010 Youth Venture Summit Reason.  Join YV's Annual Int'l Gathering July 15 to 18 The trio recently started work on a second venture, TeenLit. Both projects use community action to help underserved children. We check in for an update. Kohl's Kids Who Care Program 5 New England Teams Selected as @15 Ten National Winners Receive $10,000 Scholarships Finalists Deadline is March 15 Finalists for the @15 Community Impact Challenge have been selected.  Winners include five New England teams: Climate Action Club, Empower Our Int'l Children's Peace Prize Youth, Listen Up!, MINGA and T.G.I.F.  Winner Receives Prize Money for Related Projects Check out all 15 finalists and see how they will compete for over $32,000. Deadline is April 1 Jenny: In Her Own Ashoka Words Community As Editor-in-Chief of JJ Express Updates Magazine, Jenny uses her passion for writing to inspire youth around the world.  Jenny describes why she started her venture with brother Jack. Green Mountain Coffee and Ashoka team up for $50,000 MINGA, a venture from Newton, MA, is in the running for a $25,000 Pepsi Refresh in prizes for top innovation Grant to educate youth about the child sex trade.  Help MINGA and Vote! Deadline is April 21 Sarah and Jane of the recently launched venture Two Spring Chicks featured in the Concord Monitor. Chloe and Alex of Climate Action Club are in the Lincoln County News for their new  venture First Here, Then Everywhere. Several YVers joined the Tech4Society celebration in Nashoba Publishing spotlights the Youth Venture partnership with United Way of  Hyderbad, India North Central Mass.
