A great app for learning to write orcompose a grammatically correctsentence, and also for position in space.The app presents pictures in a frame in themain portion of the screen and a fewobjects to choose from on the left side ofthe screen. The user is asked to pick an itemfrom the left and place it in one of thevarious positions outlined, which are inrelation to another object on the screen.The user then picks the correct word at thebottom of the screen by tapping the scrolldown menu and choosing from a list ofthree to four for each box. The game encourages studentsto use higher order thinking to solve the"target" number by working backwards giventhe answer but not the equation. The bestfeature about this simple math game is thatteachers are able to receive immediatefeedback of their students’ progressthrough email. Use bluetooth to allowstudents to compete against each other.Includes built in whiteboard for problemsolving.Common Core Standards:CCSS.Math.Content.6.EE.A.2c Evaluateexpressions at specific values of theirvariables. Perfect for gettingstudents started on animal reports or tointroduce a unit.Kids can browse the stunning gallery ofanimals to see each animal’s profile page,featuring multimedia and quick facts aboutthe animals habitat, size, diet, lifespan, andconservation status along with fun facts,such as a honey bees “waggle dance” andwhy the color of the moon jellyfish can beorange, pink, or purple. Science learning hub is an app from NewZealand created and curated by educatorsand scientists.over 25 Contexts and 11 Science Stories.Each Context is supported by a library ofarticles, research stories, image galleries,videos shot on location around NewZealand, learning interactives andanimations, as well as glossaries, andteaching and learning activities.Each Science Story focuses on a part of thescience world - including profiles andcomments from some of the people andorganizations leading the thinking in theirfield.

This Day in History for iPad is an interactivemultimedia calendar that displays historicalevents for the current day or any selectedday, along with related media such asphotos, illustrations, music, and speeches.You can hear the national anthems ofcountries on the day they became a nation,listen to presidents’ speeches on theanniversaries of their inaugurations, andplay sound clips from famous artists ontheir birthdays.This is an excellent app for history andsocial studies. can be used for research,as a review, or to introduce a lesson.

Clicking on keywords provides definitions andpronunciation for academic vocabulary usedin the text.

Explore it in the app.Explore famous landmarks and historicalsites. Take virtual tours, or explore a cityin 3-D. Use Google Earth to find places inlanguage arts stories. map the travels offamous explorers.
