  • Skidmore Wilhelm Bolt Tension Calibrators measure tension in a bolted joint. Tension is the proper measure of clamping force. Torque simply measures the force applied to the joint…two identical bolts with different friction components have vastly different clamp load with the same amount of torque!The Skidmore unit is a hydraulic load cell which has been calibrated to measure force in lbs.
