Palo Alto Junior Museum and Zoo - Several Interesting Programs

  1. 1.  A homemaker based in California, Wendy Dransfield previously served as the onsite dedicated account director for Guru Worldwide, Inc.'s Next Level Communications Motorola division. Involved with civic activities, Wendy Dransfield sits on the board of directors for the Palo Alto Junior Museum and Zoo. When established in 1934, the Palo Alto Junior Museum and Zoo made history as the first children's museum west of the Mississippi. Over the following eight decades, the facility continued growing and adding new exhibits to reflect current understandings of science and trends in scientific exploration. Furthermore, its outdoor zoo was added in 1969.
  2. 2.  The zoo presently features more than 50 species of animal, including bobcats, raccoon, and bats. In addition to its extensive menagerie, the Palo Alto Junior Museum and Zoo allows visitors, particularly children aged from infancy up to 9 years old, to learn about science. The Clean Green Energy Machines exhibit teaches about renewable forms of energy such as wind, solar, and water, as well as shows guests the interconnectedness of humans and the environment.
  3. 3.  Another indoor exhibit, Buzzzz, provides children with insights into entomology by allowing attendees to observe pinned and living insects and spiders. Moreover, much younger children can visit Baby's Bramble and witness a monarch butterfly chrysalis.
