  1. 1. Palm Sunday“As they approached Jerusalem andcame to Bethphage on the Mount ofOlives, Jesus sent two disciples,2saying to them, Go to the villageahead of you, and at once you willfind a donkey tied there, with her coltby her. Untie them and bring them tome.3 If anyone says anything to you, tellhim that the Lord needs them, and hewill send them right away.4 This took place to fulfil what wasspoken through the prophet:5Say to the Daughter of Zion,See,your king comes to you, gentle andriding on a donkey, on a colt, the foalof a donkey.‘ ”
  2. 2. “6The disciples went and did asJesus had instructed them.7 They brought the donkey and thecolt, placed their cloaks on them,and Jesus sat on them.8 A very large crowd spread theircloaks on the road, while others cutbranches from the trees and spreadthem on the road.9 The crowds that went aheadof him and those that followedshouted,Hosanna to the Son of David!Blessed is he who comes in thename of the Lord!Hosanna in the highest!”

He overturned the tablesof the money-changers and thebenches of those selling doves.13 It iswritten, he said to them, My housewill be called a house of prayer, butyou are making it a den of robbers.14 The blind and the lame came to himat the temple, and he healed them.15 But when the chief priests and theteachers of the law saw the wonderfulthings he did and the children shoutingin the temple area, Hosanna to the Sonof David, they were indignant.16 Do you hear what these children aresaying? they asked him. Yes, repliedJesus, have you never read,From the lips of children and infantsyou have ordained praise?”
