Fishboston.com customizes unforgettable fishing charters in Boston Harbor and surrounding waters. Boston, long known for its historical and economic importance, is gaining a much deserved reputation as a fishing destination. The Harbor’s striper fishery is among the best along the East Coast and now with healthy numbers of bluefish, flounder, and cod, there's great fishing all season.

  • This wonderful presentation illustrates how the Harbor is coming back beautiful. This year there are lots of mackeral (sp?) in the inner Harbor for the first time in years.

Another group, is seeking to use oysters to improve the Harbor even further through the restoration of oysters. Each one can filter 30 gallons of water per day pulling out nitrogen, silt and bacteria. This makes the water cleaner, clearer and healthier for other species including eelgrass. Over 100 other species will live in an oyster reef including many species of bait. If we increase the bait, we increase the sportfish! You can learn more about the Massachusetts Oyster Project for Clean Water by visiting www.massoyster.org. The pilot restoration is making good progress.
