  6. 6. What do Employers want??? Put yourself in their shoes. Imagine you are the Marketing Manager of the your dream company who has to fill a Marketing Officer position. How would you go about selecting the right person? By : Bally Chohan

  8. 8. Skills are much easier to teach than attitudes If you lack exact experience or it is your first job, a potential employer may well be swayed by a show of enthusiasm, high values, flexibility and self- motivation. By : Bally Chohan

When reading a Resume an Employer is looking for proof that an applicant has:  Intelligence  Motivation  Other interests outside work  Stability  Adaptability and Dependency  Appropriate attitudes and values  Leadership potential  Decision making ability  Organisational skills  Effective communication skills By : Bally Chohan
  11. 11. What to leave off a resume?  The major factor that applicants leave off their resumes, which can distinguish them from other applicants, is their achievements.  Never! Never! Never leave achievements off your resume!  If you have written proof of your achievements so much the better. By : Bally Chohan

  14. 14. Know your Referees Well!  You are usually required to give three referees  Always ask permission before you use someone as a referee  Keep them updated on the progress on your job hunt By : Bally Chohan
  15. 15. Functional Format Resume  This format lists skills and experience under particular categories or headings without specifying when or where these are obtained. Employers and dates of employment are not listed. Personal information need not be included at all.  The Functional format highlights what you are capable of doing. By : Bally Chohan
