Wayne Shammel currently practices law in Roseburg,
Oregon, and serves as a volunteer and board member for
the Douglas County Low Cost Veterinary Clinic/ Umpqua
Emergency Veterinary Clinic.
Formerly the Douglas County Low Cost Veterinary Services
Clinic, the Umpqua Emergency Veterinary Clinic is an
independent nonprofit organization dedicated to
eliminating economic barriers for low-income pet owners
in Douglas County.

3. Umqua Emergency Veterinary
Clinic
 The full-service veterinary hospital offers a range of
services such as spaying and neutering, flea control,
wellness care, and vaccinations, as well as in-house
laboratory and diagnostics.
The clinic also provides pain management for chronic
conditions and for senior animals. All clients receive
low-cost services, while qualified homeless pet owners
can access services free of charge. Typically, the clinic
serves around 20 pets each day.
