• He gives his glory to one and that is Jesus because they are the same person.
  • You can see that Yahweh is the creator and Jesus is also called the creator therefore they are the same person.
  • The suggestion is all will bow willingly as they see who he is.
  • The man Christ Jesus was God but in human form he was not running the universe from earth.. He was the extension of Yahweh fully man.
  • It is hard to get around the words ‘All his Fullness.”
  • Jesus seemed to focus on the importance of who he was more then what he was about to do in the atonement. I think it is obvious that comes first. (See Jh.16:25)
  • Among evangelical scholars there is no question that most see that Jesus is Yahweh and that was his claim.
  • It is known that the early church used the Greek NT called the LXX or Septuagint version. This version started the bad tradition of not using the proper name of God and substituting LORD in its place. The word KYROS was used without the article where YHWH should be for the proper name of God. Without knowing this fact we miss important meaning in the NT. We are now discovering more meaning then past generations of the traditions of men. Some don’t like change but God is revealing things hidden to those who are ready.
  • Just seeing these verses proves Jesus is Yahweh. How can Arians like the JW’s question it?
  • There is a judgment coming on the earth. We can see it now.
  • If Yahweh is coming and Jesus is coming they are one and the same person… this is not rocket science to interpret this….
  • The marriage supper is here on earth. I have no idea what the Adventist and fundamentalist will do when aged wine is served?
  • Most of the NT is co-related to the OT. One of the weaknesses of todays Christians is they know little of the prophets of the bible.
  • There is no question that the name of Yahweh will be used in the whole earth. All will know that Yeshua Jesus is really Yahweh.
  • We need to remember that while Greek was still used as the text of scripture there was no question about understanding this truth. After Latin took over this truth of LORD and its meaning was lost. The Didache was still in Greek. Look for my translation in Scroll publishers site. Just Google it.
  • A theophany is the appearance of Yahweh our God into the world in a human form.
  • There is no question that since the early church these appearances have been viewed as Jesus the visible form of the invisible God.
  • It seems very possible that the spiritual world and material was much more open in earlier times. I am surprised that people in our day would not realize that with a universe likely with other beings much like mankind we should not be surprised that the God who created them all must be known to them all in some way. Our God is the creator of the universe not just our world.
  • It is obvious in the story that one person is Yahweh appearing as a man and the other two are angels who came along because they had a job to do.
  • Child sacrifice was common among the pagans around him. I am sure he questioned this command and also the nature of God’s character in such a command. His faith was trust in the voice of God he was used to hearing. He had already met God in person and that was his positive anchor holding on to his faith in Yahweh
  • The angel is not an angel at all it is Yahweh as is seen clearly by the word ‘ME.’ Also look to see that the test was for God to know by his actions what Abraham would do. There is no thought here of God knowing things from some ‘eternal now vision of all facts.’ See the pp. on Foreknowledge which explains this more clearly.
  • These classic pictures are so funny in that all of them have angels with wings. How silly since all reports of angels are as true forms of men. In this case Jacob is the one who says he wrestled with Yahweh himself in his human form.
  • This is one of the most important chapters on Yahweh that is in the Bible. It is here in verses 14-15 that Yahweh expresses his personal name as YAHWEH. The sacred four letters have been shown to be YAHWEH in English so that we now know the personal name of God.
  • The personal communication with Moses was in a physical form as part of the visible of the invisible God. This is clear in this verse. I highly doubt it was like the movies. Likely much more personal.
  • This story is little known by people who read the Bible. It is obvious here that like the transfiguration Moses saw more of the splendor of Yahweh. Later he would take part in that type of experience.
  • How in the wide world could they get involved with a golden calf after this experience? The physical presence of Yahweh on earth is Yahshua Jesus. It is the same Yahweh but he is here in physical form. Jesus is the only visible form man can look at and live.
  • Since this man was captain of Yahweh’s Armies I would suggest that it is most likely Yahweh himself in his visible form. See the verse that backs that up in Isaiah. Many places in Isaiah Yahweh in his visible form is called that.
  • Jesus is consistently called ‘messenger of Yahweh’. You have to know that angel is not a translated word and in most cases is messenger. Another very poorly translated word if we want the real meaning of scripture.
  • Again there is not proof that the four man is actually Yahweh but the suggestion is quite strong that it is. Jesus the form of Yahweh that appears in physical form to mankind is the most likely.
  • We should again see that there is no proof of this being Yahweh except for the many places in Isaiah and other OT scripture that the messenger is the physical visible form of Yahweh.
  • There is no other belief among all Christians then that Yahweh God himself came in the form of Jesus the baby. Immanuel means ‘God with us” and this alone should quiet the voices of all Arians who suggest other idea’s that do not fit the word of God.
  • Nothing can be more clear then the fact that baby Jesus is Yahweh. Now this verse can not be adequately explained by the three persons, three personality people. As we will see all translators use the same words and couple it with the verses in chapter 63:16 as we will see.
  • Yahweh is speaking. He is clear. He is going to come into the world himself. He is coming as the ‘arm of Yahweh’. (see Isa.53:1) Arm suggests by very image not the whole but part of the whole as more of an extension.
  • This verse seems hidden from most. That is because it is even clearer that Yahweh=redeemer=Father and by very definition = Yeshua Jesus.Even the translators key the chain reference to verse 9:6.
  • This is typical of those who talk trinity of persons and three personalities. Nothing makes sense but they make it law for you to believe them or you’re a heretic. Yeh really! Many churches and denominations intimidate people who disagree with them by saying they are not Christian if they don’t believe in the trinity. The problem is they have not proof at all for their words ‘trinity’ or ‘three persons’ which of course are not found in the Bible. How disrespectful can they be to other Christians.
  • As you can see Paul backs up the visible version of Jesus, puts him in position of creator and then says ‘all fullness of God dwells in Him.’ Really? Then where is one third of God dwells in him? Where is first, second and third person of the trinity in the Bible? Like no where maybe!
  • Should there be any question that Yahweh is our redeemer and we all know that this is Jesus.
  • There is only one concept in the bible and that is of One God. No one denies that fact both Trinitarians and non Trinitarians. However the Trinitarian version would like us to believe that you can say four legged tripod and have it make sense because they say it makes sense. Keep deciding as you read on.
  • There is a lot of misinformation out there that scholars know is false but preachers and unlearned have not heard. One is the false definition of Elohim. Scholars do NOT consider this to be used for the trinity in Genesis.
  • Hinduism is not the only pre-Christian concept of trinity of Gods. Search the internet and you will see there are many. I am using this only as an example that paganism was adapted by the pagan Catholic church as we know it brought many pagan concepts into the church to bring in more people. By the time they were done their church was more Babylonian then Christian. Careful research will show that I am right on this. The historical classic ‘the two Babylon's’ have helped spawn various concepts in specialized groups such as JW’s and Adventist. The book has been criticized but not refuted because written in the 1860’s most of the quoting documents are lost. However as we find more archeological discoveries it seems to support the original thesis. The point that the Catholic church is a rebirth of the religion of Babylon through their exiled priest has been achieved in the Catholic church.
  • We all know the logical concepts of how people get the trinity but are they Biblical or just logical? In many ways they do not answer the questions which are presented by the OT passages which far out way those arguments.
  • These are created words but full of meaning. It is dangerous to not believe Jesus is Yahweh the God of the OT because there are too many passages that show this is true.
  • How can anyone refute this fact. God speaks of himself always in terms of One person.
  • Jesus calls God Father and Abba which is daddy as a very unusual act for a Jewish person. He tells us that this was used by him figuratively yet people today still see this as a main point that he himself is not the Father. This verse is key to this understanding I believe. How did we miss this verse? I have just seen it myself.
  • Jesus himself states so clearly here that is the Father and the visible of the invisible. Being trained and taught in my early days under Oral Roberts I can’t help but believe he saw this clearly himself. His words are ingrained into my mind from that time. I can hear his voice saying them.I played soccer with this boy who was healed of polio at age four and could not walk.
  • With all the different titles of Jesus it is hard to see ‘Son’ as the only one since there is many more in the OT. It became the most popular in the NT but that should not cloud our minds that Paul especially knew who Jesus was. As an extension of Yahweh it is like a hand in the fish bowl. Is the whole person in there? NO ! Is the hand connected to the whole? Of course!
  • This type of passage is used here and Isaiah 63:8-11… Yahweh is speaking and uses “me’ and ‘Him’ … now how in the world do you get three personalities out of those words and then make statements like you will see at the last slide. “The Father is not the Son, the Son is not the Father etc. You have to decide if my analysis is actuate or foolish things that are repeated as fact by the traditions of men.
  • I believe we are in a time of a great restoration of both truth and also the use in daily application of the true name of God which is ‘YAHWEH’.As you will see this is the name used in the future Kingdom of God on earth and it is God’s name to ‘ALL’ generations.
  • Is this not proof enough?
  • Is this clear enough? There are many more scriptures to back it up. Read the Bible with the name of God clearly used in Isaiah. (see the power point on the name of God.)
  • We will not have the name Jesus on us anywhere. That is an English name for Yahshua in Hebrew.
  • This could be more developed but if you read these verses it is quite clear. Does God like to hide some things from those who are not his people? The answer is yes. If you see this you see it if you don’t you don’t. Special thanks to the excellent articles on Robert Sabin’s website.
  • I have read and re-read the article that Tertullian wrote to first use the word ‘trinity’. It is obvious that there were several things that he did not understand. First of all he did not see that the Greek words Lord in the NT. As well as the LXX OT Septuagint referred to Yahweh the personal name of God. You have to understand that they did not have access to a bible like ours and had limited knowledge of many things. As we read his criticism of his one person opponents it becomes clear that this oneness view was strong in the church and also that the arguments he uses were fool ones. His concept that if God were one that “the father died on the cross” fails the test of just plain common sense. If that is the best he can come up with then we have all been hood winked into acceptance of his concepts without examining what he is saying and why. If you listen to todays versions they are wildly spasmodic and range from the incredible to the ridiculous and even the incredible. Most border on the edge of blasphamy.
  • If Jesus was a man I can only ask the question why do people even ask this silly question? God was in human form but he was not gone from heaven and operating the universe. Remember the hand in the fish bowl.
  • There are clues to some of the things that John tells us. His gospel is the most mystical with hidden meanings throughout.
  • I am sure there are different view on this however Jesus became man to die for us. His momentary separation from his Godness seems to be from the baring of our sins on the cross. He did not die as the God of Heaven Yahweh ruler of the universe by as the redeemer the son who became man of very man.
  • This concept seems to be the best way to describe who Jesus is. From earliest Christian times including Paul we have seen this statement repeated. If you as a person see God he will appear as Jesus. He is the visible form of God.
  • If you think the words ‘is not’ fit the description of God and you still believe in ‘three persons’ with separate personalities then I have failed. We all have paradigms that we lock into and it takes time to break free of. I am not against those who like to hold other views however I personally cannot honestly do that. The evidence and proof is too thin and the attitude of those who are Trinitarian is too arrogantly critical for such a poorly supported view. Both Biblically, historically and logically Trinitarians is weak at best.
  • This next part gives you a tip of the iceberg of facts. This is not distorted in any way to be biased. I have many articles and books which back this up. Just ask me.
  • This was written in the midst of the controversy. He suffered for his beliefs by being deposed as a Bishop.
  • I have a list of comments like these from scholars who are evangelical. Why do preachers ignore these people? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Non_trinitarian
  • It seems harder to believe that the trinity is true Christianity then to believe that God himself came into our world and was all three in one person.
  • I have been straightforward with you here. I wish you to challenge not me but yourself to prayerfully re-examine the evidence to know the truth. Please ask for ‘the name of God’ power point which shows that Jesus is Yahweh is the central doctrinal issue of the NT and the Apostle Paul. Thanks for going through this with me. Tim Sauder
  • Who yahweh is

    1. 1. Who Yahweh is as he appears in the bible
Without an understanding of who the God of the bible is we have no true faith. If we do not know this truth from God himself we have a god of our own making. TS
2. 2. What is important to God?
Hosea 6 : 6 ‘For I delight in loyalty rather than sacrifice,
And in the Knowledge of God rather than burnt offering.’
but like Adam they have transgressed the covenant;
God wants most of all that we learn to know Him.
3. 3. Who is God? What did He tell us?

Isaiah 53
    4. 4. The Suffering Servant
    5. 5. 1Who has believed our message? And to whom has the arm of Yahweh been revealed? 2For He grew up before Him like a tender shoot, And like a root out of parched ground; He has no stately form or majesty That we should look upon Him, Nor appearance that we should be attracted to Him. 3He was despised and forsaken of men, A man of sorrows and acquainted with grief; And like one from whom men hide their face He was despised, and we did not (esteem Him.

Real faith in God is finding out who he is from Himself not others.

Isaiah 59:15-17 Yes, truth is lacking; and he who turns aside from evil makes himself a prey Now Yahweh saw, And it was displeasing in His sight that there was no justice. 16And He saw that there was no man, And was astonished that there was no one to intercede; Then His own arm brought salvation to Him, And His righteousness upheld Him. 17He put on righteousness like a breastplate, And a helmet of salvation on His head; And He put on garments of vengeance for clothing And wrapped Himself with (zeal as a mantle.

The name of God in scriptures

Through the study of the name of God we can find out who He is.
    6. 6. The first fact we need to know is that the Bible tells us that God revealed himself to us ,we can not find Him on our own investigation.
    7. 7. Up until the time Moses heard from God in the burning bush, Mankind did not know the full meaning of Gods name as Yahweh.
    8. 8. Exodus 6:3 says; …I appeared to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, as God Almighty, but by my name Lord (literally Yahweh= ‘I am who I am’ or just “I am”.) I did not make Myself known to them. This is YHWH the sacred letters.
    9. 9. Literally: ‘I will become whatever I am pleased to become.”

Moses Meets God

Moses had an experience that changed history for all mankind.

    12. 12. 14God said to Moses, "I AM WHO I AM"; and He said, "Thus you shall say to the sons of Israel, 'I AM has sent me to you.'"
    13. 13. 15God, furthermore, said to Moses, "Thus you shall say to the sons of Israel, ‘Yahweh, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you ' This is My name forever, and this is My memorial-name to all generations.

The most important letters in the Bible YHWH is called the sacred tetragrammaton-יהוה

Translators of most English Bibles have changed the name of the sacred letters Yahweh to LORD in capitals. This was done in the first translation of the Old Testament from the Hebrew into Greek before the time of Christ as reverence for the name. This however distorts the meaning of many Bible passages as we will see. Whenever you see LORD in capitals change it to the name of God YAHWEH. יהוה
    14. 14. This first translation was called the Septuagint and was used by the Early Church. Therefore Lord was used in the New Testament to mean the real name of God Yahweh also. This was done in the same way as the Greek Old Testament by leaving off “the” before Lord. In the concepts of the new testament writers they understood the word “ lord” to be ‘Yahweh” when quoting the Old Testament.
    15. 15. The Name of ‘Yahweh” is used 6823 times in the bible directly and in the NT. If we correlate to the OT. It is not in the earlier manuscripts.) “Go therefore and make disciples in my name of all nations.”

The Didache

We have evidence beyond the bible that they used a name to baptize.
    57. 57. In the first document of the Early Church past the New Testament writings, the ‘Didache’ or ‘Teaching’ the writer says this; ‘ 9:5 Do not let anyone eat or drink of your Eucharist meal except the ones who have beenbaptized into the name of the Lord. (or into the name of YAHWEH or Jesus who is Yahweh) For the Lord said concerning this: do not give that which is holy to the dogs.

What did the early church do?
Baptism in the Early Church

If we follow this same self evident truth we will see another surprising error of the present church.
    58. 58. It is my belief that the early church used this name in Baptism.
    59. 59. Acts 2:38 …Repent, and let each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins…
    60. 60. Acts 8:16 …they had simply been baptized in
    61. 61. the name of the Lord Jesus.
    62. 62. Note they were using Yahshua not Jesus to Jewish followers.
    63. 63. Acts 10:48 …and he ordered them to be baptized in thename of Jesus Christ…
    64. 64. Romans 6:3 Or do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus have been baptized into His death?
    65. 65. I suggest a formula for baptism could be in English;

“ I baptize you in the name of Jesus into Christ who is
YAHWEH the father, son and holy spirit.”
66. 66. Summary of this truth
1. The name of God is Yahweh his self revealed name in Exodus 3: 14-16 and is an eternal everlasting name.

2.This name is the connection between Old and New Testament refers to Jesus as that person of Yahweh. This is why the name Lord is used by the apostle Paul. It is direct reference to Yahweh.
    67. 67. 3. A simple reading of the Old Testament where these things are quoted from shows this to be the cornerstone of the Christian faith.
    68. 68. 4.To be a Christian you must believe Jesus is Lord (Yahweh).
    69. 69. 5.Baptism in the Early Church was using a name not a title.
    70. 70. 6.Yahweh is the one returning for his church as judge not as savior which is Jesus.
    71. 71. 7.It is his eternal name we should get used to using it because it is his name forever.

The name of God and Jesus Part 2 in the series
We need to understand that there is a controversy over the use of the name of Jesus in our modern times. There is some scripture we need to think about and historical facts we need to learn
72. 72. The name of God review
Exodus 3:14-15
14God said to Moses,"I AM WHO I AM"; and He said, "Thus you shall say to the sons of Israel, 'I AM has sent me to you.'"
15God, furthermore, said to Moses, "Thus you shall say to the sons of Israel, ‘ Yahweh, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you ' This is My name forever, and this is My memorial-name to all generations.
73. 73. God’s self revealed name is Yahweh from the four letters called the sacred tetragrammaton
These letters without vowels give us the name of God Yahweh, with vowels. His name means, ‘the God who, was , is and will be.” His name was considered so sacred that the Jews stopped pronouncing it. Then stopped writing it and changing it in the first translation into Greek about 300 years before Christ to LORD in Greek.
When they did this they left off the article ‘the’ so that all would know it was the sacred name.
74. 74. The early church used this Greek old testament bible called the Septuagint.
As Christianity spread into the gentile world the common universal language of the day was Greek. It was therefore natural to write in Greek as did Paul. The Old Testament was also in Greek that the gentiles used so therefore they were using their language of the common usage.
75. 75. When Paul or Luke wrote in Greek they gave the Hebrew word and or the Greek equivalent.
This is done in Acts telling us ‘Paul’ is the Greek equivalent for ‘Saul’ in Hebrew. Some would tell us that the New Testament was first written in Hebrew or Aramaic. As much as they would like to have us believe that, our oldest manuscripts are only in Greek and we only have fragments that are in Greek.
Anything else is false speculation. It is likely Matthew and Mark wrote their gospels in Aramaic since Mark went east into Assyria which was an Aramaic speaking country. Aramaic is the language that the Jews had from living in Babylon.
76. 76. The name ‘Jesus’
First of all it should be noted that in the English language the letter ‘J’ did not appear until around 500 years ago. Both the Hebrew and the Greek have no ‘J’ sound like English. ‘I’ was the letter used and ‘Yuh’ sound would have been used as most European languages of this day for the letter ‘J’ when it was first used.
77. 77. Early English words for Jesus
Note in the original 1611 version of the King James Version of the Bible there was no “J” letter in this Bible, because it did not exist. James was spelled Iames. Jesus was spelled Iesous.
78. 78. Here is the way Jesus came down to us through the translations
Webster’s New World Dictionary confirms the Oxford World Dictionary, but it shows the derivation of “Jesus” correctly transliterated in Latin, Greek, and Hebrew using the letters “I” and “Y,” showing that there was no J used in these original languages when the scriptures were translated into them.
“In Late Latin Jesus was originally spelled Iesus; In Greek it was spelled Ièsous; and in ancient Hebrew spelled “yÈshÙa,” which is a contraction of yehÖshÙa(Joshua), help of Jehovah < yÀh, Jehovah + hÖshïa, to help.”
79. 79. New Testament writers used ‘Iesous’ because it was the same in meaning as ‘Yahshua’
“Yahshua” spelled many different ways, ties together the Hebrew ‘YAHWEH’ the sacred name of God, with “Yah’ short form, meaning ‘Yahweh is our salvation. ‘ This is important to understand in that when we know his name is ‘Yahshua’ (Jesus that is) we understand it is a derivative of ‘Yahweh’.
80. 80. Since Jesus as a name, was not invented yet. Mary spoke Hebrew, it is logical that the angel gave Jesus his Hebrew name ‘Yahshua’.
Matthew 1:21 behold, an angel of Yahweh appeared to him in a dream, saying, "Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife; for the Child who has been conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit.
21"She will bear a Son; and you shall call His name Jesus, (Yahshua)for He will save His people from their sins." (Lk. 1:27), (Luke 1:30-31).”
(Note the Father of Jesus was the Holy Spirit of Yahweh.)
81. 81. In Paul’s conversion story he clearly says Jesus spoke to him in Hebrew. Again he would have said that he was ‘Yahshua’.
Acts 26:14-15 "And when we had all fallen to the ground, I heard a voice saying to me in the Hebrew dialect, 'Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me? It is hard for you to kick against the goads.'
15"And I said, 'Who are You, Lord?' And the Lord said, 'I am Jesus whom you are persecuting.
82. 82. God is not confused by translations of his name into different languages
Luke 23:38-39 Now there was also an inscription above Him, "THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS."
This was written in three languages of the day, Hebrew, Latin and Greek.
83. 83. Does the name mater?
Lk.2:21And when eight days had passed, before His circumcision, His name was then called Jesus,( we know that Jesus would not be the name but Yahshua) the name given by the angel before He was conceived in the womb.
84. 84. Does John mean a name has power or the person referred to has the power?
Jh.20:30 Therefore many other signs Jesus also performed in the presence of the disciples, which are not written in this book;
31but these have been written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing you may have life in His name.
85. 85. Healings done in his name in any language prove it is the person of Jesus, Yahshua, etc. that is meant
Acts 3:16 "And on the basis of faith in His name, it is the name of Jesus which has strengthened this man whom you see and know; and the faith which comes through Him has given him this perfect health in the presence of you all.
Acts 4:10 let it be known to all of you and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ (literally ‘YahshauHamashia) the Nazarene, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead--by this name this man stands here before you in good health.
86. 86. What language did the early church use? The answer is the language of the people to whom they ministered.
Acts 8:12 But when they believed Philip preaching the good news about the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, they were being baptized, men and women alike.
16For He had not yet fallen upon any of them; they had simply been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.
I would think that Paul and others in the early church used the language of the people of that day. They did baptize them in the name of Jesus if they were Greek speaking, or Latin speaking. They would only use “Yahshua’ if they were Hebrew speaking.
87. 87. What is this importance for us?
People have been saved using the name of Jesus down through the centuries. Although it is okay to use the name ‘Yahshua’ it is more important that we know who Jesus is. If you understand that Jesus is Yahweh our saviour, then He stands ready to save us. If you wish to use ‘Yahshua’ in place of Jesus, that is not wrong either as long as you don’t condemn those who do not follow your concepts.
( Some are adding that the name of Jesus is a pagan name. This is false teaching. It does not mean ‘hail Zeus’ it did not originate from Constantine.
The writers of our New Testament used the Greek equivalent 200 years earlier, therefore these claims are totally false. )
Names and words are not Magic formulas. It is important that we know Jesus (Yahshua) the author and finisher of our faith.
88. 88. Words we use that have not been totally translated but we should recognize their meaning.
Yahweh=Name of our God in the Bible
Halleluyah=Praise be to “Yah’.
Amen= so be it
Angel = Messenger
Host= Armies
Almighty = again often translated from armies or all powerful
Jesus= Yahweh our saviour, Yahshua in Hebrew (some spelling is Yehshua Yahushua etc.
89. 89. We will have the name Yahweh on our foreheads not Jesus.
Zechariah 14:9
And Yahweh will be king over all the earth; in that day Yahweh will be the only one, and His name the only one.
Rev.22:4they will see His face, and His name will be on their foreheads.
Jh.5:43"I have come in My Father's name, and you do not receive Me; if another comes in his own name, you will receive him.
Yahshua is Yahweh therefore when he comes back Yahweh’s name will be on our foreheads.
90. 90. What is the name above every name? Yahweh
Phil.2:9For this reason also, God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name,
10so that at the name of JesusEVERY KNEE WILL BOW, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
11and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord,(Yahweh) to the glory of God the Father.
Since Jesus has been given the name of Yahweh and Isa.45:23 says every knee bows to Yahweh then the confession in verse 11 will be that every tongue confesses that Jesus is Yahweh.
91. 91. What is the Plan of God for the future?
One thing is for sure, there is great differences of opinion on this subject.
I am dealing here with the scriptures of the Old Testament mostly and how they relate to this subject.
92. 92. The theme of God’s goal is, that the world should know who he is and worship Him
Ps. 86:9 All nations whom You have made shall come and worship before You, O Yahweh,
And they shall glorify Your name.
Psalm 102:15-17 So the nations will fear the name of Yahweh
And all the kings of the earth Your glory.
93. 93. This is traditionally called the Millennial reign of Christ
God's Universal Reign
Isa.2: 1The word which Isaiah the son of Amos saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem.
2Now it will come about that
In the last days
The mountain of the house of Yahweh
Will be established as the chief of the mountains,
And will be raised above the hills;
And all the nations will stream to it.
3And many peoples will come and say,
"Come, let us go up to the mountain of Yahweh,
94. 94. Jesus as Yahweh will reign over all the nations of the earth from Jerusalem
To the house of the God of Jacob;
That He may teach us concerning His ways
And that we may walk in His paths."
For the law will go forth from Zion
And the word of Yahweh from Jerusalem.
4And He will judge between the nations,
And will render decisions for many peoples;
And they will hammer their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks
Nation will not lift up sword against nation,
And never again will they learn war.
95. 95. There will be a protection from our atmosphere for some reason
Isa. 4:5then Yahweh will create over the whole area of Mount Zion and over her assemblies a cloud by day, even smoke, and the brightness of a flaming fire by night; for over all the glory will be a canopy.
96. 96. It was easy for the Jews to misinterpret the first coming as the second one
Isaiah 9:6-7 For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us, And the government will rest on His shoulders; And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Eternal Father, Prince of Peace. There will be no end to the increase of His government or of peace, On the throne of David and over his kingdom, To establish it and to uphold it with justice and righteousness. From then on and forevermore
The zeal of Yahweh of armies will accomplish this.
97. 97. See the detail of the words. ‘Perishing’, ‘trumpet’!
Isa. 27:13 It will come about also in that day that a great trumpet will be blown, and those who were perishing in the land of Assyria and who were scattered in the land of Egypt will come and worship Yahweh in the holy mountain at Jerusalem.
98. 98. This is a consistent prophetic message
Isa. 40:5Then the glory of Yahweh will be revealed,
And all flesh will see it together;
For the mouth of Yahweh has spoken."
Rev.1:7 BEHOLD, HE IS COMING WITH THE CLOUDS, and every eye will see Him, even those who pierced Him; and all the tribes of the earth will mourn over Him. So it is to be. Amen.
Zech.14:5 ‘…Then Yahweh , my God will come, and all the holy ones (saints) with Him.
99. 99. This sounds like the same event
Matthew 24:29-31
29"But immediately after the tribulation of those days the SUN WILL BE DARKENED, AND THE MOON WILL NOT GIVE ITS LIGHT, AND THE STARS WILL FALL from the sky, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken.
"And then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the SON OF MAN COMING ON THE CLOUDS OF THE SKY with power and great glory. "And He will send forth His angels with A GREAT TRUMPET and THEY WILL GATHER TOGETHER His elect from (I)the four winds, from one end of the sky to the other.
100. 100. Jesus is coming to set up a Kingdom to show mankind his rule and explain who he is.
Daniel 7:13-14 "I kept looking in the night visions,
And behold, with the clouds of heaven. One like a Son of Man was coming,
And He came up to the Ancient of Days. And was presented before Him.
"And to Him was given dominion,
Glory and a kingdom,
Thatall the peoples, nations and men of every language
Might serve Him
His dominion is an everlasting dominion
Which will not pass away;
And His kingdom is one
Which will not be destroyed.
101. 101. All the earth will see it. There is no secret coming
Isa. 40:10Behold, Yahweh GOD will come with might,
With His arm ruling for Him
Behold, His reward is with Him.
Jesus is the “Arm’ of Yahweh. Isa.53:1, 59:16,17 40:5-10.
102. 102. The nations will see him and come into willful submission
Isa.45:22"Turn to Me and be saved, all the ends of the earth;
For I am God, and there is no other.
23"I have sworn by Myself,
The word has gone forth from My mouth in righteousness
And will not turn back,
That to Me every knee will bow, every tongue will swear. Rom.14:11, Phil.2:10
103. 103. One of the purposes is to show the world that Jesus really is Yahweh
Isa. 49:26. ..And all flesh will know that I, Yahweh, am your Savior
And your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob."
54:5"For your husband is your Maker,
Whose name is Yahweh of armies;
And your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel,
104. 104. There will be a great conversion of Jewish people at his coming
Zechariah 12:8-10 "In that day Yahweh will defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and the one who is feeble among them in that day will be like David, and the house of David will be like God, like the messenger of Yahweh before them. "And in that day I will set about to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem. "I will pour out on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the Spirit of grace and of supplication, so that they will look on Me whom they have pierced; and they will mourn for Him, as one mourns for an only son, and they will weep bitterly over Him like the bitter weeping over a firstborn.
105. 105. Jesus is Yahweh in visible form as a human person (he is all you will ever see of God)
Isa.63: 8For He said, "Surely, they are My people,
Sons who will not deal falsely "
So He became their Savior.
60:16…Then you will know that I, Yahweh, am your Savior
And your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.
106. 106. His coming is proceeded by earth upheavals
Isa.26:9 …For when the earth experiences Your judgments
The inhabitants of the world learn righteousness.
Lk.21:25"There will be signs in sun and moon and stars, and on the earth dismay among nations, in perplexity at the roaring of the sea and the waves,
men fainting from fear and the expectation of the things which are coming upon the world; for the powers of the heavens will be shaken.
107. 107. There will be a mighty battle on Christ’s return in the middle east
Zech.12:8"In that day Yahweh will defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and the one who is feeble among them in that day will be like David, and the house of David will be like God, like the messenger of Yahweh before them.
9"And in that day I will set about to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.
108. 108. There will be a celebration wedding feast for those who believed in Who he was and what he did for us making him lord.
Isa. 25:6 Yahweh of armies will prepare a lavish banquet for all peoples on this mountain;
A banquet of aged wine, choice pieces with marrow,
And refined, aged wine.
And on this mountain He will swallow up the covering which is over all people. Even the veil which is stretched over all nations.
He will swallow up death for all time, And Yahweh GOD will wipe tears away from all faces, And He will remove the reproach of His people from all the earth; For Yahweh has spoken. And it will be said in that day, "Behold, this is our God for whom we have waited that He might save us This is Yahweh for whom we have waited;
109. 109. A new world will appear with the rule of Yahweh, (Yeshua, Jesus) as king.
Isaiah 11:6-9 And the wolf will dwell with the lamb,
And the leopard will lie down with the young goat,
And the calf and the young lion and the fatling together;
And a little boy will lead them.
Also the cow and the bear will graze, Their young will lie down together, And the lion will eat straw like the ox. The nursing child will play by the hole of the cobra,
And the weaned child will put his hand on the viper's den. They will not hurt or destroy in all My holy mountain, For the earth will be full of the knowledge of Yahweh
As the waters cover the sea.
110. 110. Theophany's in the bible and what it means
The average Christian knows almost nothing about the appearances of God in the Old Testament. Why? This has to be important to our understanding of God. My goal is to enlighten and challenge us all to think new thoughts on this important issue
111. 111. What is a theophany ?
A theophany is defined as an appearance of God in the form of a man before the incarnation, where He became a true human in a more permanent way in the form of Jesus the Messiah. For this he had to give up something of his Godness.
Phil. 2:6 Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage;
rather, he made himself nothing
by taking the very nature of a servant,
being made in human likeness.
And being found in appearance as a man,
he humbled himself
by becoming obedient to death—
even death on a cross!
112. 112. The earliest record of man and God is that physical appearances where normal
Gen.3: 8 Then the man and his wife heard the sound of Yahweh God as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from Yahweh God among the trees of the garden. But Yahweh God called to the man, “Where are you?”
113. 113. One was Yahweh and two others were angels
Genesis 18:1 Yahweh appeared to Abraham near the great trees of Mamre while he was sitting at the entrance to his tent in the heat of the day.
22 The men turned away and went toward Sodom, but Abraham remained standing before Yahweh.
19:1 The two angels arrived at Sodom in the evening
114. 114. Who is involve in the test of Abraham?
Abraham Tested
Gen.22:1 Some time later God tested Abraham. He said to him, “Abraham!”
“Here I am,” he replied.
2 Then God said, “Take your son, your only son, whom you love—Isaac—and go to the region of Moriah. Sacrifice him there as a burnt offering on a mountain I will show you.”
115. 115. It is obvious by use of ‘ME’ that the angel was Yahweh himself
Gen.22:10Abraham stretched out his hand and took the knife to slay his son.
11But the angel (messenger)of Yahweh called to him from heaven and said, "Abraham, Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
12He said, "Do not stretch out your hand against the lad, and do nothing to him; for now I know that you fear God, since you have not withheld your son, your only son, from Me."
116. 116. Jacob wrestles with God not an angel with wings
Gen.32:24 So Jacob was left alone, and a man wrestled with him till daybreak. When the man saw that he could not overpower him, he touched the socket of Jacob’s hip so that his hip was wrenched as he wrestled with the man.
Then the man said, “Let me go, for it is daybreak.” But Jacob replied, “I will not let you go unless you bless me.”
The man asked him, “What is your name?”
“Jacob,” he answered.
Then the man said, “Your name will no longer be Jacob, but Israel,[a] because you have struggled with God and with humans and have overcome.”
Jacob said, “Please tell me your name.”
But he replied, “Why do you ask my name?” Then he blessed him there.
So Jacob called the place Peniel,[b] saying, “It is because I saw God face to face, and yet my life was spared.”
117. 117. Moses first meets God who will become his friend
Exodus 3:2-6
There the angel of Yahweh appeared to him in flames of fire from within a bush. Moses saw that though the bush was on fire it did not burn up. So Moses thought, “I will go over and see this strange sight—why the bush does not burn up.”
118. 118. Now it got more personal with Yahweh
Ex.33:11Yahweh would speak to Moses face to face, as one speaks to a friend. Then Moses would return to the camp, but his young aide Joshua son of Nun did not leave the tent.
119. 119. This was a moment very special in the life of Moses.
Exodus 33: 21 Then Yahweh said, “There is a place near me where you may stand on a rock. When my glory passes by, I will put you in a cleft in the rock and cover you with my hand until I have passed by. Then I will remove my hand and you will see my back; but my face must not be seen.”
‘The word back can as easily be rendered the aftereffects of the glory that had passed by.
This would fit the context as well as the range of meanings for the Hebrew word used. Moses did not see the glory of God directly, but once it had gone past, God did allow him to view the results, the afterglow, that his presence had produced.’
Walter C. Kaiser, Jr., Hard Sayings of the Old Testament (Downers Grove, IL: InterVarsity Press, 1988), pp. 83-84
120. 120. This was a spectacular experience never to forget you would think
Exodus 24:9-11 Then Moses went up with Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel,
and they saw the God of Israel; and under His feet there appeared to be a pavement of sapphire, as clear as the sky itself.
Yet He did not stretch out His hand against the nobles of the sons of Israel; and theysaw God, and they ate and drank.
121. 121. Joshua’s encounter with Yahweh as captain of the Armies
Josh 5:13 Now when Joshua was near Jericho, he looked up and saw a man standing in front of him with a drawn sword in his hand. Joshua went up to him and asked, “Are you for us or for our enemies?”
“Neither,” he replied, “but as commander of the army of Yahweh I have now come.” Then Joshua fell facedown to the ground in reverence, and asked him, “What message does my Lord have for his servant?”
The commander of Yahweh’s army replied, “Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy.” And Joshua did so
(Isa.25: 6 Lord of hosts means Yahweh of Armies throughout the bible. )
122. 122. Gideon encounters Yahweh
Judges 6:11Then the angel (messenger) of Yahweh came and sat under the oak that was in Ophrah, which belonged to Joash the Abiezrite as his son Gideon was beating out wheat in the wine press in order to save it from the Midianites.
The angel (messenger)of Yahweh appeared to him and said to him, “Yahweh is with you, O valiant warrior."
Judges 13:21…Then Manoah knew that he was the Messenger of Yahweh… So Manoah said to his wife,"We will surely die, for we have seen God."
123. 123. Daniels three friends have a physical appearance from Yahweh
Daniel 3:22-25
For this reason, because the king's command was urgent and the furnace had been made extremely hot, the flame of the fire slew those men who carried up Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego.
But these three men, Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego, fell into the midst of the furnace of blazing fire still tied up.
Then Nebuchadnezzar the king was astounded and stood up in haste; he said to his high officials, "Was it not three men we cast bound into the midst of the fire?" They replied to the king, "Certainly, O king."
He said, "Look! 125. 125. The real promise was the coming of Yahweh into our world
Isaiah 7:13 Then Isaiah said, “Hear now, you house of David! Is it not enough to try the patience of humans? Will you try the patience of my God also? Therefore Yahweh himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel.(God with us) He will be eating curds and honey when he knows enough to reject the wrong and choose the right,
Yahweh is Jesus and also the Father
Isa.63:16For You are our Father, though Abraham does not know us
And Israel does not recognize us
You, O Yahweh, are our Father,
Our Redeemer from of old is Your name.
(this is clearly marked as a chain ref. by the translators with 9:6)
The phrase literally means, "Father of Eternity."
That is a clear reference to the biblical truth that Christ is Creator of heaven and earth. In Hebrews 1:10-12 God the Father says to Christ the Son,”
Wait a minute John… he is the Father and you just said that so what is this talk of switching to your ‘ Father says to the son.’
(Chr. 130. 130. Jesus was Yahweh God on earth but as a man and extension of God
Col.1:15 The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.
16 For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him.
17 He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.
18 And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy.
19 For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him,
132. 132. 7742 times in the Old Testament God refers to Himself with singular personal pronouns, I, me, mine. 134. 134. The concept of trinity of persons is older then Christianity
‘Lord Vishnu in the Trinity of Gods occupies the highest position. 136. 136. How many times have you heard these phrases?
Fred Sanders – Author on the trinity
‘First we provide biblical proofs of the deity of the Son, then the deity of the Spirit, then the personhood of the Spirit, then the distinction between the Father and the Son, then the distinction between the Son and the Spirit, and so on, either beginning or ending with biblical proof of the unity of God. ‘
The Bible never mentions "God the son." Those words are not scriptural. The phrase "eternal son of God" is not in the Bible. The word "Trinity" is not in the Bible, neither is the phrase "second person in the Godhead," nor is the definition that there are "three persons in the Godhead" found there. “
Robert A Sabin
137. 137. There are two groups of believers on the nature of Jesus
1.Deputationalism
2.Theocarnationalism
1. God sent someone else.
This group includes Trinitarians who see Jesus separate from the Father, JW’s who are Arian see him as a created being from God, whom they believed turned into God’s deputy.
2. God came himself.
It is believed that Jesus is the extension of God as part of himself and that he came in human form. That God is one united person not divided. As the Son he was still part of God but in human form taking on human experience and saving us.
138. 138. God is spoken of as one being throughout the whole bible.
Isa.54: 5"For your husband is your Maker, Whose name is Yahweh of armies; And your Redeemer is the Holy One (not the holy three)(phrase used 45 times)of Israel, Who is called the God of all the earth.
John 10:30“ I and the Father are one."
(Deut.6:4 key verse)
139. 139. 140. 140. God is the Father and the Son in the incarnation by becoming human
‎'God became the Father, however only by relationship to the human man that He became. For God to become "Father" did not require any metaphysical change. "Father" simply refers to YHWH's designation. Apart from the incarnation He has always existed but now we understand him in human experience and form. YHWH comes to be known as "Father" to the son after the incarnation, because of His paternal relationship to Jesus (Yahshua) our saviour. So while it could be said that YHWH became "Father" and "Son" simultaneously, this does not imply that the "becoming" was of the same nature. The incarnational becoming (John 1:14) is a metaphysical becoming, while God's existence as "Father" is a relational becoming.'
141. 141. Jesus is the visible manifestation of Yahweh who is Father, Son and Holy Spirit
Oral Roberts told us, ‘Jesus is the best picture God ever had taken.’
John 14:7"If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; from now on you know Him, and have seen Him."
Philip said to Him, "Lord, show us the Father, and it is enough for us."
Jesus said to him, "Have I been so long with you, and yet you have not come to know Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; how can you say, 'Show us the Father'?
John 13:20 "Truly, truly, I say to you, he who receives whomever I send receives Me; and he who receives Me receives Him who sent Me."
142. 142. So who really sent the Holy Spirit? The answer is the One God Yahweh
John 14:26 "But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you.
John 15:26 "When the Helper comes, whomI will send to you from the Father, that is the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify about Me,
John 16:7 "But I tell you the truth, it is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him to you.
Luke 11:13 "If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenlyFather give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him?"
Oral Roberts Called the Holy Spirit ‘Jesus other self.’ I like that.
143. 143. Jesus is the extension of Yahweh Who gave up his fullness to become human
John 16:28 “I came forth from the Father and have come into the world; I am leaving the world again and going to the Father."
The words of the OT suggest Jesus is an extension of Yahweh while on earth.
Words used are: messenger, branch, servant, arm, hand of Yahweh.
155. 155. The puzzle is made clear in that it is hidden until we respond
(John 16:25, 26). He will reveal himself as "God, all and in all" (1 Corinthians 15:28). We will learn that our brother (Hebrews 2:10, 17) is actually also our Father (Revelation 21:1-7 cf Revelation 22:13-16). He will always retain the identity of Jesus Christ, our Creator who became one of us in order to redeem us.
(Robert A. Sabin)
156. 156. This is a key to unlock the mystery
1 Corinthians 15:28 When he has done this, then the Son himself will be made subject to him who put everything under him, so that God may be all in all.
Hebrews 2:10 In bringing many sons and daughters to glory, it was fitting that God, for whom and through whom everything exists, should make the pioneer of their salvation perfect through what he suffered.
This is the purpose of God, many children just like Jesus
John 16:25-26 “Though I have been speaking figuratively, a time is coming when I will no longer use this kind of language but will tell you plainly about my Father. What is in the future
Revelation 21:1-7
A New Heaven and a New Earth
Then I saw “a new heaven and a new earth,” for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband.
And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”
He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.” He said to me: “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To the thirsty I will give water without cost from the spring of the water of life.
158. 158. There is a falsehood deceiving people now, of who God is.
Revelation 22:13-16 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.
“Blessed are those who wash their robes, that they may have the right to the tree of life and may go through the gates into the city. Outside are the dogs, those who practice magic arts, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idolaters and everyone who loves and practices falsehood.
“I, Jesus, have sent my angel to give you this testimony for the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, and the bright Morning Star.”
159. 159. Questions people have?
Voices speaking and a dove is not signs of three persons. Jesus was a man at the time.
Since the bible is clear that Jesus is Yahweh and Yahweh is our redeemer and Father, why do people think there is three persons?
People fail to see that Jesus was fully man while on earth and made statements to that effect such as “the Father is greater then I”.
He was not the fullness of God on earth at that time.
160. 160. To whom did Jesus Pray?If he is the Father, then obviously to the part of himself not on earth.(Mt.6:6 his inner self)
Remembering all the time that Jesus was a man at the time. Yahweh in human form.
Why are you in despair, O my soul? And why have you become disturbed within
Me? (Ps. 42: 5, 11; )Now My soul has become troubled; and what shall I say, “Father, save Me from
this hour”? But for this purpose I came to this hour. Father, glorify Your name.”*
(Jn. 12: 27, 28; NASB. Cf. Mt. 26: 38 & Mk. 14: 34)
161. 161. Some of Jesus prayers were just for show
John 11:41-42
So they took away the stone. Then Jesus looked up and said, “Father, I thank you that you have heard me.
I knew that you always hear me, but I said this for the benefit of the people standing here, that they may believe that you sent me.”
162. 162. How did Jesus see himself?
We can make sense of the distinction of activity and consciousness between the Father and Son if we understand the person of Jesus to be conscious of Himself in two distinct ways:
As God in His cosmic mode of existence, and as man in His human mode of existence. On this basis we can understand how he could function. On the one hand he could experience his divine nature causing and allowing Him to be conscious of Himself and act in a divine manner. But in His incarnate human side of existence, the one divine person functions according to His human nature, causing/allowing Him to be conscious of Himself as to who he was but continue to act in a human manner. He could experience divine consciousness simultaneously in his human form. He was totally human with a human spirit just like us. To be totally in human form he had to give up his Godness in form and function ie. He could not be in all places at the same time. Later in his Spirit form yes he can.
163. 163. As our redeemer Jesus felt (Ps.22:24)separated as He took our sins on himself
Matthew 27:46 About the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, "ELI, ELI, LAMA SABACHTHANI?" that is, "MY GOD, MY GOD, WHY HAVE YOU FORSAKEN ME?"
Lit. ‘what sort of persons have you left me with.’ Ps.22:1 is the quote. This is his human feelings.
164. 164. Jesus is the visible of the invisible God
This concept is totally in line with what Tertullian said was a view held in the early church.
Paul's parallel is intended to show that God being One, the Father and the Son are complementary One to the Other, and we cannot have one without the other. It has been well expressed thus:—"Christ is the visible of the invisible, while the Father is the invisible of the visible Christ. Christ is the perfect Image of God.“
Cecil J. Blay
165. 165. What Trinitarians say about their concept (now do you believe this?)
Question: "What does the Bible teach about the Trinity?"
Answer: The most difficult thing about the Christian concept of the Trinity is that there is no way to adequately explain it. The Trinity is a concept that is impossible for any human being to fully understand, let alone explain… The Trinity is one God existing in three Persons. (Really?)
166. 166. Early church leadersand scholars
Any research on the trinity will lead you to the conclusion that trinity of three persons was not the original simple idea of the Apostles. It will also suggest that pagan influences were part of the whole conceptualization process.
167. 167. Trinity as three persons was late in the Church not its foundation
"Now with the heresy of the Ariomaniacs, which has corrupted the Church of God...These then teach three hypostases, just as Valentinus the heresiarch first invented in the book entitled by him 'On the Three Natures'. For he was the first to invent three hypostases and three persons of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, and he is discovered to have filched this from Hermes and Plato." Marcellus of Ancyra
Bishop during Nicaea
The Council of Serdica (343) formally examined his book and declared it free of heresy.
Marcellus of Ancyra
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
169. 169. This was a topic of controversy in the early church for sure
‘…the same; (and this they maintain) because in a preceding passage, before
He had refused (the sight of) His face to Moses, the Scripture informs us
that “the Lord spake face to face with Moses, even as a man speaketh
unto his friend;” just as Jacob also says, “I have seen God face to face.”
Therefore the Visible and the Invisible are one and the same; and both
being thus the same, it follows that He is invisible as the Father, and
visible as the Son. ‘Pg1105 vol 3.
Tertullian: Speaking of those he was against. However they, whoever they were, seem to have the right view not him.
170. 170. What scholars tell us
Because the Trinity is such an important part of later Christian doctrine, it is striking that the term does not appear in the NT. Likewise the developed concept of three coequal partners in the Godhead found in later creedal formulations cannot be clearly detected within the confines of the canon" (Oxford Companion to the Bible, ed. Bruce Metzger, OUP, 1993, p. 782).
"The word Trinity is not found in the Bible.... It did not find a place formally in the theology of the church until the fourth century" (Illustrated Bible Dictionary, Intervarsity Press, Tyndale House Publishers, 1980, part 3, p. 1).
Bruce Metzer
171. 171. Even the Catholics admit the trinity is late in date
The Trinity "is not directly and immediately the Word of God" (New Catholic Encyclopedia, 1967, Vol. XIV, p. 304).
"In Scripture there is yet no single term by which the Three Divine Persons are denoted together. The word ‘Trias’ (of which the Latin ‘Trinitas’ is a translation) is first found in Theophilus of Antioch about 180 AD.... Shortly afterwards it appears in its Latin form of ‘Trinitas’ in Tertullian" (The Catholic Encyclopedia, 1912, Vol. 15, p. 47).
"Hasty conclusions cannot be drawn from usage, for [Tertullian] does not apply the words [which were later applied to Trinitarianism] to Trinitarian theology" (Michael O’Carroll, Trinitas: A Theological Encyclopedia of the Holy Trinity, 1987, p. 208).
172. 172. Question everyone should answer about the trinity
It is not right for people to condemn each other for not believing the same on the trinity if they don’t listen to both sides of the argument. Hopefully this will help
173. 173. Questions we need to ask about the trinity
1. Trinitarians fail to answer key questions from those who believe differently. They fail to admit there might be other answers for the seeming divisions of the Godhead besides the three person theory, iethe pagan connection.
2. They fail to admit it is a later then early church formula, coming in to the church only in the forth century. In the fifth century bringing harsh punishment by military force because it was backed by the state church.
3. They do not want to admit that it might not be the only way of seeing the verses that raise questions.
4. They fail to see that Jesus as a man in human form was not fully Yahweh as God while in that form, in that he humbled himself and in so doing gave up some of his attributes. This was not a manifestation like the theophany's but truly Yahweh becoming man, and as such needed to pray etc. to continue communication with his other part of himself.
5. To make wild speculations to interpret the manifestations of Yahweh when they see a dove or hear of a voice from heaven fly’s in the face of the clear teaching of scripture that God is ONE. There is no hint that God is three any where in scripture. Failure to admit this shows weakness.
6. Most of all they do not want to admit that the unbiblical doctrine of the trinity is nonsense, doublespeak ,“he is three persons but really one god,’ which has caused the church ridicule, and properly so, from Jews, Muslims, and intelligent people who read the bible everywhere.
174. 174. Nonsense phrases that have no meaning do not help us
The trinity of God in three persons who is really one God is like saying. ‘Can God make a four legged tripod?” or ‘Can God make a rock so big he can’t move it?’
Speaking nonsense is not any different when you come to the trinity.
175. 175. Wild speculations are not sound biblical interpretation
When Balaam’s donkey spoke it was a miracle, and act of God to get Balaam’s attention. We would not jump to the conclusion that because speaking is a sign of personhood that all of a sudden Balaam’s donkey had become a person.
176. 176. The history of the trinity in pagan cultures.
It is easy to show that the trinity of ‘three persons as god’ is very old. In reality all pagan religions of the world, Hinduism, Egyptian, Islam and Catholic all trace their origins to Babylon the mother of all mystery religions that are pagan.
177. 177. Hindu’s trinity
In Hinduism the gods,
—Brahma the creator, Shiva the destroyer and Vishnu form the trinity. It is interesting as the picture shows that the serpent is included in the trinity. Note the goddess Cali sometimes with her serpents around her. Does this not tell us who is behind the doctrine?
178. 178. This is Brahma and Cali, now is there any question about trinity here?
There should be no question who is behind the Hindu gods!
Brahama is a trinity!
179. 179. The driving force of paganism was the vast amount of slaves in the Roman world mostly from the eastern part of the world with Babylonian religious practices ingrained in the culture
180. 180. Does this look familiar?
Another influence from paganism was the mother and child symbols coming into the church. Female deities were popular especially when you had sex at the temple which was the case in many pagan religions.
181. 181. Since the icon and pictures in the places of worship was forbidden into the time of Constantine we must assume depictions were after this period.
"Letter to Constantia" (the sister of Constantine the Great)
"You also wrote me about some supposed image of Christ, which image you wished me to send to you. Now what kind of thing is that you refer to as the image of Christ? I do not know what compelled you to request that an image of Our Savior should be shown. What kind of image of Christ are you seeking? Is it the true and unadulterated one which bears His essential characteristics [His divine image], or the one which He assumed for our sake when He took up the form of a servant [His human form]? ... Granted, He has two forms, and even I do not think that your petition has to do with His divine form. ... Surely then, you are seeking His image as a servant, that of the flesh which He assumed for our sake. ... How can one paint an image so unattainable and wonderful ... unless, as so the unbelieving pagans, one is to represent things that have no possible resemblance to anything ... ? For they [the pagans] make such idols when they wish to form the likeness of what they think to be a god or, as they might say, one of the heroes or anything else of like nature, yet they are unable even to approach a likeness, and accurately represent some strange human forms. Surely, even you will agree with me that such practices are illegal for us. [Eusebius church historian ad.263-339
182. 182. By the middle ages this was the common way of talking about the trinity
183. 183. This is a common way of explaining the trinity presently
We need to know that modern day Trinitarian's use this picture to explain their version on what they mean by trinity.
Lets see the things that they say about it and how they get to thinking three persons are one being called God.
184. 184. The famous cult writer Walter Martin’s version
His first rule.
‘Always interpret the Old Testament in light of the New Testament never the reverse.’
This is not true. So not true that those who made the power point for his teaching changed it without listening to what he said.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y4AN2hHk7ws&feature=share
185. 185. 2 Timothy 3:16 All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness;
When Paul wrote these words what did he mean by the word ‘scripture’? There was no concept at the time of a New Testament scripture. He was not saying ‘my words are now scripture’. He was referring obviously to one thing. The Jewish Scriptures we call the Old Testament.
From this we can tell that we interpret the New Testament from the Old Testament. The whole foundation of the New covenant is the old testament scriptures. Biblical scholars agree against the wishes of Walter Martin that this is true.
186. 186. Walter Martin thinks this proves the three persons of the trinity?
2 Peter 1:17 For when He received honor and glory from God the Father, such an utterance as this was made to Him by the Majestic Glory, "This is My beloved Son with whom I am well-pleased"—(Matt.17:5)
John 8:54Jesus answered, "If I glorify Myself, My glory is nothing; it is My Father who glorifies Me, of whom you say, 'He is our God';
187. 187. Do these verses say there are three persons of the trinity?
First of all as I have pointed out, Jesus later states in 16:25 of Johns gospel that his discussion of the Father was in parables or figurative language. Secondly while he was on earth in human form, he was in some great measure separated from his full Godness. He was fully human, therefore limited in time and space from his unlimited form. He was at this point the ‘HIM’ of Zech.12:10 but as that passage clearly suggests Yahweh is speaking as ‘I, me and him.” As a man on earth he did pray to the Father as his other self in the unlimited form in the endless universe of the spiritual world. It is not hard to understand that his words were both unclear at times by his own admission and continually phased in his human experience form as a man. Understanding this gives no reason for us to discuss why he prayed to the Father. Was he the Father? He said yes. The Old Testament says yes. So whatever view of the trinity you have don’t believe the triangle that says ‘NO or NOT’ in the place of was he the Father.
God is a trinity in One person. They cannot be three persons or that would imply three personalities, three wills, three minds and three desires. This is not in any text of scripture. (see power point #1 for further discussion if you have not done so.) ‘Trinity’ as a word is not in the bible along with three persons, first person, second person or third person.
188. 188. Yahweh is first and last and so is Yahshua Jesus. They are one and the same person
Walter Martin states clearly thatYahweh is the Father. I think we all agree with that who are Christians. He than says Jesus is Yahweh also. Again no disagreement. He uses Jh.8:57-58 which I would use along with 8:23-24. (He uses Rev.1:8 and 22:12-13 showing nicely that This is Yahweh and Yahshua Jesus as the same person. Rev.1:17-18 it is Yahweh as Yahshua, Jesus speaking as first and last. If that is so, how can there be a first person, a second person and a third person all separate?
Isaiah 44: 6"Thus says Yahweh, the King of Israel and his Redeemer, Yahweh of armies:
'I am the first and I am the last, And there is no God besides Me.
189. 189. The Holy Spirit is not a separate person or is he ever prayed to as such.
Acts 5:3,4 But Peter said, "Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and to keep back some of the price of the land?
To make this simple statement into a proof text for the Holy Spirit being a separate person seems incredible to believe. The Holy Spirit is the spirit of Yahweh.
Zech.4:6Then he said to me, "This is the word of Yahweh to Zerubbabel saying, 'Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,' says Yahweh of armies. Yahweh has a spirit for he is a triune being like us, but in one person. (cf.Isa.63:10 sounds like a similar situation to the Acts one)
190. 190. Illustrations of the trinity
Often the illustration of the egg is what is seen as a good illustration of three in one. My only comment of to this, is this a biblical illustration? The answer is no! It means nothing as far as God’s word is concerned. It is not even hinted at in the bible.
191. 191. What is a biblical illustration by Yahweh God himself?
Jeremiah 23:5 "Behold, the days are coming," declares Yahweh,
"When I will raise up for David a righteous Branch;
And He will reign as king and act wisely
And do justice and righteousness in the land.
As a branch Yahshua Jesus, is part of the tree not the whole tree but certainly not separate from the tree.
192. 192. Yahshua Jesus is called the ‘Arm’ of God
Isaiah 53
1Who has believed our message?
And to whom has the arm of Yahweh been revealed?
2For He grew up before Him like a tender shoot,
And like a root out of parched ground;
He has no stately form or majesty
That we should look upon Him,
Nor appearance that we should be attracted to Him.
3He was despised and forsaken of men,
A man of sorrows and acquainted with grief;
And like one from whom men hide their face
He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.
It is obvious the same way that the arm is not a separate person but is not the whole person.
193. 193. Yahshua Jesus is the Messenger
Mal.3:1"Behold, I am going to sendMy messenger, (John the Baptist )and he will clear the way before Me And the Lord, whom you seek, will suddenly come to His temple; and the messenger of the covenant, in whom you delight, behold, He is coming," says Yahweh of armies.
194. 194. One of the most powerful verses in the Bible on Jesus being Yahweh
I = Yahweh
My Messenger= John the Baptist
He= John the Baptist
Me= Yahweh
the Lord= (H113 Strong's adon.
His temple= the temple of Yahweh It could refer to bodily temple
the messenger of the covenant= Yahweh as Yahshua Jesus
He= Yahweh as Yahshua
195. 195. Yahshua is called the servant of Yahweh…
Isaiah 42:1 The Servant of Yahweh “Here is my servant, whom I uphold, my chosen one in whom I delight; I will put my Spirit on him, and he will bring justice to the nations. He will not shout or cry out, or raise his voice in the streets.
196. 196. Since Yahweh is our redeemer how is he a separate person?
Isaiah 44:24 “This is what Yahwehsays— your Redeemer, who formed you in the womb: I am Yahweh, the Maker of all things, who stretches out the heavens, who spreads out the earth by myself,
197. 197. If Jesus Yahshua is Yahweh as all would agree then this verse is also clear Yahweh is our Father. Jesus is the Father also
Isaiah 63:16 But you are our Father, though Abraham does not know us or Israel acknowledge us; you, Yahweh, are our Father, our Redeemer from of old is your name.
The Old Testament is the foundation for the New. If this is clear then we must not see something incorrectly in the NT. They agree even if we don’t see it.
198. 198. There is only one God on the throne not three
Rev.7:15"For this reason, they are before the throne of Yahweh God; and they serve Him day and night in His temple; and He who sits on the throne will spread His tabernacle over them.
16"They will hunger no longer, nor thirst anymore; nor will the sun beat down on them, nor any heat; 17for theLamb in the center of the throne will be their shepherd, and will guide them to springs of the water of life; and Yahweh God will wipe every tear from their eyes.“
Rev.4:2 Immediately I was in the Spirit; and behold, a throne was standing in heaven, and Onesitting on the throne.
199. 199. So where oh where is the three persons everyone talks about?
Eph.4:5…one Lord,(Yahweh God) one faith, one baptism,
James 2:19You believe that God is one You do well; the demons also believe, and shudder.
Deut.6:4"Hear, O Israel! Yahweh is our God, Yahweh is one!
Isa.45:18 "I am Yahweh, and there is none else.
200. 200. Proof positive Yahweh and his son Yahshua Jesus are one and the same person
Isa. 43:11"I, even I, am Yahweh,
And there is no savior besides Me.
2 Peter 3:18…but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
We know there are too many verses tell us Jesus is our saviour.
201. 201. One what Jesus?
John 10: 30"I and the Father are one."
I find it tempting to put the word ‘person’ after this as it appears in the English grammar as to what is called an ellipsis.
Grammar .
‘the omission from a sentence or other construction of one or more words that would complete or clarify the construction, as the omission of who are, while I am, or while we are from.‘ This is called an ellipsis.
202. 202. Yahweh came himself to earth in the person of Jesus. They are one
2 Cor.5:19…namely, that God(and who is our great God but Yahweh himself?) was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself,
Remember Immanuel means God with us…. Isa.7:15 Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, a virgin will be with child and bear a son, and she will call His name Immanuel.
203. 203. My belief is that the Bible should teach us not the Catholic tradition
This power point teaching is backed by scholarly articles. If you wish information
Email me :
saudertim@gmail.com
www.everyoneweb.es/timsauder/
Timothy Sauder
