  • @andrewitz Thanks for liking presentation. Actually, extended reactions feature is also one of our favourite features of 2015. As of now, this feature is not available in most of the countries. We can hope that it will be available soon in all the countries.

  • Great recap, thanks for sharing. I think the best new feature is the extend Reactions, no longer are you constrained to just Like or Dislike, especially when someone share bad news. That has always been a big issue. So glad to see it's fixed.

Year 2015 will be ended after few days. • Many social media fans want to know what were the biggest updates their favorite social media platform brought in 2015. • We know that most of the people love Facebook and they want to know about new features of 2015. • In 2015, Facebook have introduced so many new features. Some features are in testing and will be available in the near future. • In this presentation, we have filtered top 15 Facebook features and updates of 2015 which are important for almost every type of Facebook user.
  3. 3. Call-to-action Button for Facebook Pages You can turn your social media visitors into customers by sending them to appropriate landing page when they visit your Facebook Page. Using this new call-to action button, people can directly get-in-touch with your brand or organization.
  4. 4. News Feed Update for Showing Fewer Hoaxes “Not everything you read on the internet is true.” and Facebook knows this thing very well. Now, Facebook users can able to report such posts which contain false or inaccurate information and Facebook will highlight posts with message “Many People on Facebook have reported that this story contains false information.” So, Ultimately you will see less hoaxes on Facebook.

By using this new feature, Facebook users can choose a legacy contact—a family member or friend who can manage their Facebook account when they pass away. After person’s death, his/her account can be converted into memorial of their life.

To send money right away from the chat window, first tap the $ icon and enter the amount you want to send and after that, tap Pay in the top right and add your debit card to send money.

People always look back at old photos, status updates & albums in which they were tagged. With this new ‘On This Day’ feature, you can easily see past status updates, photos, posts from friends and other things you’ve shared or been tagged in – from one year ago, two years ago, and so on. Only, you can able to see this content unless you share with your friends.

Facebook introduced a Scrapbook feature, using which you can organize photos of your child from centralized location. You can do lots of things with this scrapbook to manage your child photos more easily.
  9. 9. Video Calling in Facebook Messenger Facebook doesn’t want to stay behind than its major instant messaging app competitors like Skype, Viber and others. So, they have introduced much-waited Video Calling feature in Facebook Messenger. Right now, Video calling is available for Android and iOS users in selected countries only, This update will be rolled out to other regions in upcoming months.
  10. 10. Instant Articles Now, there is no need to go to browser to read web articles. Instant Articles load in Facebook itself as much as ten times faster than standard mobile web articles. Instant Articles is a great tool for big and reputed publishers to create fast, interactive articles on Facebook.
  11. 11. Facebook Lite Facebook has released new light version of its Android app. Facebook Lite uses less data and also works well with slow network connections. It also includes basic things like News Feed, status updates, photos, notifications and more.
  12. 12. Sign Up on Messenger Without a Facebook Account Do you want to use Facebook Messenger? but you don’t have Facebook account. Don’t worry, now you can sign up for messenger without using a Facebook account. From the welcome screen of the app, you can choose to sign up with your phone number instead of Facebook account and use all features of Facebook Messenger.
  13. 13. New Updated Controls for News Feed You can manage your Facebook News feed according to your choice using these new controls. You can set newsfeed to see the content first from your favorite pages and people. You can unfollow people to hide their posts without unfriending them. Also, you can reconnect with them in future. Further, you can discover new pages according to your interests.

Introduction of 360-Degree Videos Facebook went one step ahead and introduced not just videos but 360-degree videos. 360-degree videos can be helpful for publishers to effectively display their messages. As of now, Star Wars, Discovery, GoPro, LeBron James & Uninterrupted, NBC’s Saturday Night Live, and VICE are already using 360-degree videos to give a unique experience to their fans.
  15. 15. Introduction to New Reactions Instead of just one Dislike button, we got number of other reactions that can be used as a response to your Facebook friend’s posts. Now, you can add any of these six different reactions namely "like, "love," "haha," "yay," "wow," "sad" and "anger" to Facebook post. Each reaction comes with a corresponding emoji and you can only add one reaction to a given post.
  16. 16. Introduction to New Reactions (Continued...) Like is also part of these reactions so, you can’t “like” and “love” the same post. This feature is rolled out for the Facebook users of Ireland and Spain only. Facebook didn’t confirm when other users will get this new feature but it will likely depend on how people respond to the initial test.
  17. 17. Introduction of Live Video Earlier in December-2015, Facebook has began testing live videos on Facebook. Facebook started the experiment with a small percentage of people in the US on iPhones. In the future, most of the Facebook users can see live videos from their friends and liked brand & celebrity pages right in the News Feed.
  18. 18. Call to Cab Directly from Facebook Messenger Facebook Messenger didn’t just remain the app for chatting with friends using text, video and stickers. As shared in previous slides, now you can send money to your friends via Messenger. Recently in Mid-December, Facebook added new feature in latest version of Messenger app.
  19. 19. Call to Cab Directly from Facebook Messenger (Continued...) This new feature allows users to request a ride from Facebook’s first Transportation partner Uber. To request a ride, choose Transportation by tapping more menu within a conversation then tap car icon. This service is available to selected users of United States where Uber operates. Facebook is planning to add more countries and other transportation partners in the future.
