Academic Technology Center (ATC) <ul><li>Opened in November, 1998 </li></ul><ul><li>A team was created to help establish the center </li></ul><ul><li>Purpose: To provide a designated area where staff and students will assist faculty and staff with the integration of technology into the curriculum. </li></ul><ul><li>Main Focus: Academics </li></ul><ul><li>Faculty interested in putting their course materials on the Web or who want to create a PowerPoint presentation can get assistance from the ATC. </li></ul><ul><li>TechCons - the ATC is staffed by students who have experience in designing web sites and using multimedia. </li></ul>

    21. 21. ATC -Web Consulting <ul><li>TechCons will be available to assist faculty and staff in developing and/or transferring course content or personal home pages on the Web. Students will assist faculty and staff in designing their web site via storyboarding and format their documents with the appropriate HTML codes. </li></ul><ul><li>It is not necessary for faculty and staff to have experience with HTML coding. </li></ul>
    22. 22. ATC -Assistance with PowerPoint <ul><li>Provide assistance to faculty and staff in creating/designing PowerPoint presentations to meet their needs. This includes storyboarding the presentation and incorporating text, graphics (photos and clipart), animation, Web links and backgrounds. </li></ul>

These products consist of many components such as listservs, chat rooms, assignments, tests/quizzes, course content </li></ul><ul><li>Last year, working with OID, five faculty members evaluated five of these products and narrowed the choice down to two - WEBCT and COURSEINFO </li></ul>
