Goal of Slide: Introduce Veritas’ view of how we are helping customers with a 360 degree view of managing their data—the intention is to animate each solution area and say one line about it before advancing to the next slide.
Presenter: At Veritas, we focus on the data and workloads that make up your business, not the infrastructure it runs on. That means all the important capabilities you require are in place, no matter where you are in your multi-cloud journey. With our 360 approach to data management, you can expect things like: Data Visibility Gain granular understanding of the entire unstructured data landscape. Data Protection Ensure data recoverability for any workload; enable self-service access to virtual data copies. Data/Workload Portability Ensure freedom of data/workload movement and migration across locations and platforms. Storage Optimization Boost performance, scalability, and availability across any storage while dramatically reducing cost. Business Continuity Minimize interruptions with one-click failover to any environment. Digital Compliance Prove regulatory compliance, automate archiving, and respond to eDiscovery matters. At the heart of all that the ability to leverage metadata to classify what you have, to inform policies, and to improve other critical functions of the solution Now, this is not just a collection of things that we can do. Rather, it’s designed to meet very specific challenges any enterprise faces as they make their may through the multi-cloud world.
(Build 1)As per ESG, on an average organizations use at least 4 backup solutions. 4 backup solutions – different workflows, different management, different licensing, with no integrations between each other. Which means there is no way to verify if data is actually protected. This is today and it is already pretty complex.
(Build 2) The datacenter landscape is evolving. Yes, we still have AIX, and mainframes, and big storage arrays. Yes, we still have Oracle and MS SQL and DB2. But at the same time there is an increase in adoption for virtualization. We have new deployment models like hyperconverged infrastructures as well as Modern workloads coming out of the Open Source communities. Along with that organizations are looking to move to the cloud. But you still need your data to be 100% recoverable, you still need to meet compliance regulations, with zero downtime. (Build 3)As a result, other than the traditional “Backup Administrator,” now there are a number of new stakeholders who care about data protection. Such as - VMware admin, Big Data Admin, etc. All of these new stakeholders, with new demands as well as asks for more independence and control over their workloads. Which means now you have more tools/solutions/workflows to manage.
Build 4. All of this cannot be ignored. (Build 4) Because by 2025, IDC predicts that the total amount of digital data created worldwide will rise to 163 zettabytes. And the organizations which are able to analyze relevant data and deliver actionable information will achieve an extra $430 billion in productivity benefits over their less analytically oriented peers. Which means all the data produced is mission critical and has to be protected. (Build 5)Because just in 2017, the average hourly downtime cost was upto $400,000 US dollars
So when you’re looking to protect your data…what are the main things technology professionals are looking for? The need a simple solution, which supports the broadest set of workloads, and can provide a deeper level of information about the data itself.
And we believe that this level of comprehensive support is available….with our newest release of NBU 8.1.2…or as we like to say “the best just got better”
How many of you use atleast three of these workloads? Raise your hands. (Pause for 10 seconds) Now, how many of use at least two data protection solutions to protect them? (Pause) How about three data protection solution? (Pause) At Veritas, we use many, yet one backup solution. Why? Because NetBackup can protect all of them. Single unified solution which protects your data no matter where it lives – physical, virtual or in the cloud, and I want to dig into a few of these a little deeper, starting with Vmware.
Lets start with VMware
With this we come to end of the VMware section. Even now if you have doubts as to why Veritas for VMware workloads, its because: We have been partners with VMware for 11 years with Day zero support for new features. We are vSan and Vmware on ASW cloud certified NetBackup is the king of scale and the only solution which can scale from 100s to 1000s of VMs With Instant Access for VMware, you can quickly access and recover your data without the use of any agents And lastly, we can deliver value in just 3 clicks!
So, in conclusion, why NetBackup for Cloud: Because NetBackup delivers the flexibility to meet all your cloud backup need you can choose from a range of 40+ certified public cloud connectors Optimize data reduction with NetBackup CloudCatalyst and speed end-to-end deduplication upto 3x faster than competing products Seamlessly orchestrate snapshots for cloud workloads Lastly, use a single backup solution to manage data protection across all physical, cloud, virtual workloads
We have covered 2 out of the 3 essential features.
Today, fixes are done after the fact. Even reports on what the environment looked like or what could have been the cause of a failure – especially if it’s outside of the backup environment (i.e. network, compute, storage issue) – can be misleading or even inaccurate. We have a number of new features in he pipeline which can help improve the reliability and predictability of your NetBackup environment
The Top 10 leading commercial banks, financial data service companies, telecommunications companies trust us. 86%
Because: We are #1 in market share for backup and recovery #1 in market share for software-defined storage We have been the leader in Gartner MQ for 15 straight years
If any other vendor can claim these things, then you should absolutely go with them. Others may make claims, but the leader backs it up!
