Kaleidoscope

 1. 1. KALEIDOSCOPE
A FASHION WEEKEND
2. 2. Event Venue
Kaleidoscope – The Fashion Weekend
would be held at The Hub, Emporio Mall, New Delhi. Emporio Mall by default is a host to the audience that Kaleidoscope targets. People usually visit Emporio for the purpose of shopping, which is the underlying motivation for any designer to participate
The sponsors of our event would also be convinced that the attending audience of the event would be in sync with their TG as well.
3. 3. Kaleidoscope would be a lavish event with some of the most well known names in the industry, who would weave together a weekend to remember through a series of fashion exhibitions by India’s biggest designers, fashion shows, ‘India’s Super Chef’ competition, ‘Be the Live Mannequin’ contest and a gamut of workshops for the attendees.
4. 4. Every Designer brings with himself a distinct culture/attitude representing one of the many states of India. What better place for an amalgamation than Delhi, the heart of India. A city of varied, rich and colorful cultures brought together by people from all over India.
5. 5. Why Delhi?
It is the capital city of India
The political and economic hub of northern India
The city has its historical importance for the fact that it has been the home to Mugal Empire. Delhi, as described by the famous poet MirzaGalib, is ”If the world is body the Delhi is its soul".
Over the years, Delhi has always been an important center for cultural activities.
Delhi has the advantage of its cosmopolitan society, very multi linguistic and multi cultured.
6. 6. Why Delhi?
The City's capital status has amplified the importance of National events and holidays
It is one of the fastest growing cities in the world.
In a report jointly prepared by Institute for Competitiveness and Confederation of Indian Industry, the city is listed as the best to live in
Delhi is the largest commercial center in northern India. In 2007, Delhi had a per capita income of 66,728 (US$1,488.03) at current prices, the third highest in India after Chandigarh and Goa as of 2006–07
Home to the embassies of 160 countries, Delhi has a large expatriate population.
7. 7. Cutting across geographic and cultural barriers, Kaleidoscope will showcase the best impulses of the fashion industry and firmly establish the fabled city of Delhi amongst the couture capitals of the world. The event would prove to be an opportunity for the entire industry to collectively showcase their collections to both the media and individual buyers.
8. 8. These magnificent creations of some of the most popular and prestigious designers in the country today would be exhibited and sold which would ensure maximum footfall of the appropriate target audience.
9. 9. The exhibitors
The top names of the Indian Fashion fraternity (who are not present at either The Emporio Mall or DLF Promenade):
Ritu Kumar
RituBeri
Gauri & Nainika
Rina Dhaka
JJ Valaya
Anita Dongre
Narendra Kumar
Sabyasachi

Nita Lulla

 11. 11. WendelRodricks
 12. 12. Abu Jani and SandeepKhosla
 13. 13. Abhi Singh

The exhibition would be surrounded by various workshops promoting the culture of the particular state, that designer’s inspiration.
14. 14. VidhiSinghania promoted Kotah a textile from Rajasthan. Her exhibition space would be encircled by pottery, puppet making etc. to engage the attendees and create an enchanting ambience.
15. 15. SabyasachiMukherjee uses yarns and fabric from Orissa. In fact his collection in the near future is expected to flaunt many more motives of the state.
16. 16. Fashion Shows
Indian designers who have exclusive showrooms at either The Emporio Mall or at DLF Promenade would participate in the fashion show. They would not be a part of the exhibition, as anyone who wishes to buy the designer merchandise can simply walk into their showrooms.
17. 17. Fashion Show
Participating designers would include:
Abhishek Gupta
Abraham & Thakore
Gaurav Gupta
MaliniRamani
Manish Arora
RaghavendraRathore
Ranna Gill
Rohit Bal
TarunTahiliani
Farah Ali Khan
Janavai
Ashish N Soni
18. 18. The look & feel of the ramp
MUSICAL FOUNTAIN
19. 19. The look & feel of the ramp
20. 20. India’s Super Chef
21. 21. Rationale behind clubbing India’s Super Chef with Kaleidoscope
Varna Events strongly believes that to leave a long lasting impression on the attendee’s mind, all five senses need to be stimulated during an event.
The Hub at Emporio Mall would be unwilling to permit us to serve/sell authentic Indian food due to their yearly contracts with restaurants there.
A Super Chef Competition would not only grab eyeballs, get lapped up by the media, but would also ensure that the attendees get to relish authentic food from various states in sync with our exhibition themes.
22. 22. India’s Super Chef
Entries from only 5 Star, 5 Star Delux and Heritage Hotels from all over the country would be invited.
The competition would be divided into four parts:
Starters
Main Course
Curries
Desserts
The judges would be the designers participating in both the exhibition and the fashion show. The preparation would also be served to the attendees of the event.
23. 23. Be The Live Mannequin Contest
24. 24. Be The Live Mannequin Contest
An initiative to reach out to the public (directly & through the media)
One Boy and one girl chosen for every hour to wear and display a designers outfit at a designated area in The Emporio Mall for the public, media and his/her friends.
Invite entries (just a picture of aspiring models from all over India)
Let the designers decide which of the entries suit their collection
Clothes to be provided by the designers and accessories/make-up/hair do by sponsors.
25. 25. Be the Live Mannequin Contest
Gratification for the designer –
Word-of-mouth publicity
Instant connect with a larger audience.
Clothes displayed on a live mannequin over a fake one has aesthetic benefits.
Reach the public through the media (makeover of aspiring models)
Gratification for the participants-
Immediate fame
The clothes/accessories
Chance to be featured in various media vehicles.
Can also tie up with a media channel and turn it into a live makeover contest.
26. 26. The concept is successful because it benefits everyone involved: not only does it promote the cultures of various states; the designers are provided with a single platform to showcase their collections to their potential customers. The event is also a platform for the media, which acts as the main channel through which the latest trends, designs and colour coordinates are communicated to a wider target audience.
27. 27. Sponsors of Kaleidoscope
Since, we’ve not started pitching for sponsors as yet, a definite list is not available. However, our sponsors would be the likes of (preferably Brands present at The Emporio Mall)
